Thank you @nico_silva_97 for this time capsule 😂 The photo, the bio on the back has me cracking up. Back in the day we thought it would be fun to make business cards like baseball cards to differentiate ourselves. by @davevanz

20 years of focusing on people, culture and experiences: in the early 2000’s, Detroit was going through it at the time and I put my attention on the people, the culture, music, and experiences that reflected who Detroit was, and built a platform called detroitcity.com

We had a storefront where we worked and hung out. 1500sqft, original tin ceilings 💙

I did what I loved helping create the rooms that people gathered in

supporting local music was a core focus due to the impact Motown had on the world

We supported organizations that were relevant to the culture, like the Detroit Music Awards

We were also big on local sports because it represented such an important piece of unity in local culture.

It didn’t hurt that our teams brought home championships, like the Larry O’brien Trophy in my arms 😉

Since high school I loved bringing people together and it was only natural that I found my way into that

The people I met and created with are still some of my family today

20 years ago, my work kept me out 6 nights out a week till 2-4am

Growing our community required in person first and online second

Over the last 20 years I’ve shared conversations with pro athletes, [famous] musicians, community leaders, billionaires, blue collar and white collar workers, etc. The one thing they all share is an appreciation for authentic connection.

immersing myself in the local culture of Detroit shaped so much of who I am and I’m so grateful to be engaged locally now in Orlando. by @davevanz

This Alaskan Fishing Guide took a CEO on a 10 day expedition and later that CEO called and offered him a position as Head of Direct Sales for USA. The story is super fun and glad I had the chance to meet Mason Graves and share his story for my client by @davevanz

At @insidepassageseattle you enter into a sunken ship that was brought down to the depths of the sea by Kiki the Kraken. Kiki remains at the top of the ship with her tentacles stretched across the room, reminding you, the ship isn’t going anywhere. If you’re looking for a good Tiki experience in Seattle, this place has a great design and some fun drink presentations but unfortunately they overpack them with ice. I went two days in a row thinking maybe it was just the bartender, but nope. the second day I finished one of the drinks in 6 sips. When i shuffled through the ice I couldn’t even see the liquid. Great design, great story, if they fixed their portions this would be a 5 star tiki bar by @davevanz
