Huge emotional high finishing my first marathon.

Flying Pig in Cincinnati was so much fun, but boy did I get humbled miles 17-20.

Was cruising at a 7:50 pace, hit a wall and fell to a 9 min+ pace.

Special thanks to a handful of people who made the experience so good.

My wife, @justduebz , for encouraging me to run the full and not letting me back down to a half.

My training partner, @joshuasm00re , who I ran most of my long runs with and kept me hype for months.

@millayme for capturing most of these great photos and supporting.

All my friends and family who came out to cheer us on.

And all the other people who ran with me or helped me prepare, like @randy_doyle and @wesjadams

Will I do another marathon? Or an ultra?

I’m just trying to make it up the stairs for now. by @david.millay

david achieved his goal of going sub-3 in Indy last year - wildly impressive. cheering @david.millay on as he crushes goals in such a low-key way is one of my favorite things to witness, having friends and family alongside makes it even sweeter!! ❤️‍🔥🦭🌟

#GoOneMore by @david.millay

last year we were figuring out a way to keep our heads above water, this year we chose to dig in and live. one of my favorite years to get to be by your side, so much joy, laughter, figuring out to do with the pieces after everything had felt shattered to bits. so many laughs and tears. watching you reach new spaces within yourself is something i’ll never take for granted. this year is one i’ll hold close to my heart forever. i’ve watched you be a friend that shows up, a husband that holds and supports, and a person who always fights for the good. hbd to my husband who has cracked the code and ages backwards fr love u forever always and more!!!! 🐛🫂❤️ by @david.millay

no words will ever be able to express the heartache we have missing them ❤️‍🩹 thinking of them everyday, but especially today 🪽🫂🐾 by @david.millay

Sub 3-hour marathon ✅

Started this year with a fitness goal to run a sub 3:30 marathon. After beating my goal in May, I needed something a new goal to chase… to break three hours. And we got the job done.

Genuinely never would have thought sub 3 was possible for me… I’m certainly not built like a runner. I joked with my Dad about it earlier this year, but @itsregss and @justduebz convinced me it was possible and to get after it.

I trained for almost 14 weeks, logging over 550 miles, early mornings and late nights. Track workouts, long runs, and everything in between. While most of the long runs were with friends, the large majority of miles were solo… so when race day came and I was shoulder to shoulder with a giant pack of runners til Mile 20, it was incredible.

Race day itself was perfect conditions.. and I had fantastic support all along the course, I’ll tag them below.

To everyone who pushed me, who encouraged me, who made life easier for me so I could focus on hitting this goal… from my wife @justduebz , to my training partners @nbowe01 @millayme @yung_kublai @clairebarks @andrea_gomez_10 @randy_doyle … and special shout out to @thesamanderson for running all 26.2 with me… thank you.

We’ll see what’s next.

And one final thanks to @___stephhhc @mr_dclutch @kellyduebbzy & Marc and all my training partners already mentioned for coming out and cheering me on by @david.millay

Flying Pig Marathon 2025… absolutely crushed my goal.

Goal > 3:25 Actual - 3:13:34 A 30 minute PR

I was originally supposed to run in Carmel, IN (flat course) two weeks ago, but the race was canceled due to weather. So I had to sign up for the course whose hills crushed me last year.

Weather ended up being perfect. Friends ran alongside me. And on streets I’m so familiar with in my own city.

Wouldn’t have been possible without a whole squad supporting:

@nbowe01 coaching me on nutrition, training plan and pace goal.

@randy_doyle for getting training runs in with me and jumping in and running miles 20-26 with me to push me faster.

@micmurr1125 - she was spectating, saw me at Mile 12, and legit jumped in and ran the next 14 miles with me to pace me and keep me company.

@millayme - for snapping fire photos of me and going on long training runs together.

And @justduebz for supporting me and our family through the training, moving things around so I could get training runs in, encouraging me to get the shoes, sign up for the race, and just do the dang thing. by @david.millay
