Dolly was simply the best. Better than advertised. Meeting and working with Dolly was one of those pinch me moments. I’ll never forget when she walked into the makeup trailer on my first day “Well look at you! Thank you so much for being here. I’m so excited to have you on the show. Can I get a picture with you?” What??? Dolly just asked if she could get a picture with me??? Shock was an understatement. I’d been a fan of hers ever since I could remember. She was so warm and open. I remember asking her about the song Jolene. She told me the whole story, which I’m certain she’d told a thousand times. How she had met a little girl and asked her what her name was, “Jolene… Jolene what a beautiful name”. She thought “I need to use that one day”. She had been jealous of some poor woman that her husband happen to be talking to at the bank one day. She claimed the interaction was likely innocent, but she was still jealous non the less. She sat on her tour bus one night and wrote “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You” back to back on a tape recorder. What a talent! What a beautiful light in this world. There will never be another like her. Thank you Dolly ❤️ #dolly @dollyparton by @david_denman

David Denman on Hollywood: during the audition process for THE REPLACEMENTS, a director taught him one of the most important lessons of his career: stop trying to guess what people want. The role has to come through your own instrument. He lost the original part, but the impression he left ultimately landed him another role in the movie. #daviddenman #actorslife #acting #behindthescenes #anactordespairs by @david_denman

Resilience is understanding that rejection isn’t always the end of the story.

Sometimes getting fired from a project feels like a devastating setback. For David Denman @david_denman , it ultimately led him down the path to the opportunity that changed everything.

A great reminder that the jobs we lose can sometimes make room for the ones we’re meant to have.
