The older you grow the more I realize how important these three things are.

~ Appreciate each day as it comes.
~ Embracing every moment.
~ Staying fully present with the people and experiences in front of me.

Pre-Game stretch.

A glance at my daily non-negotiable for any serious athlete.

I build and create systems individualized for each athlete I work with.

There’s pre-game protocols, post-game protocols, day off protocols, travel, day protocols, etc. Its a 24/7 job if an athlete wants to keep their body functioning at the highest level.

It goes far beyond what you see in this 45 minute stretching & surface-level tissue work.
Durability is built through individualized recovery, consistent maintenance, and knowing how to prepare your athletes body for the demands of the season.

“The evolution of living”

When it comes to wellness, I’ve always believed in following the science, both ancient and cutting-edge. From holistic practices to the most advanced biohacking methods, from full-body MRIs to deep-dive bloodwork tracking over 100 biomarkers, it’s all about real data and actionable insights.

But at the end of the day, the real game-changer is what you choose to implement every single day. True health isn’t comfortable, it demands sacrifice, discipline, and a willingness to do what most won’t. As I approach my 49th birthday, I’ve developed a more clear understanding just how important it is to be healthy as you age. Nobody wants to hit that second half of their life and not be able to enjoy it. But more importantly that first half when you’re supposed to be healthy, and you’re not can make life a bit more challenging than it already is.

Stay tuned. This journey is just getting started. taken in Miami, Florida by @davidalexander

November 7th, 2026 - 9am-11am i’m hosting a workshop pertaining to one of the most important parts of your time with a client that they don’t teach you in school. Secure your seat at
www.dbcfitness.com

I’ve been in the fitness industry for over 28 years, and one of the most common mistakes I still see trainers make happens in the first 10 minutes of a session.

No strategy. No purpose.

How you prepare a client should be dictated by what you’re preparing them to do.

That’s exactly why I created this intimate, hands-on workshop for personal trainers to bring purpose and intention to stretching, mobility, and warm-ups for their clients, and how we prepare them not just physically, but mentally as well. by @davidalexander

The stuff they don’t teach you in school, or even in most certifications.

How do you prepare your client mentally and physically for what you’re about to ask them to do in their session?

How do you start a session with purpose, and finish it with the same level of intention?

These are the details that separate a $100-per-session trainer from a $500-per-session coach.

I’ve spent over 28 years developing, refining, and applying these details with my clients.

Now I’m teaching them to you!

There are certifications that teach you information.
And then there are experiences that change the way you coach.

Because being a great coach goes far beyond the degrees on your wall, the certifications on your résumé, or how much science you can memorize.
Me the most important thing was being able to truly connect trainers to the information on a practical. I wanted them to be able to take that knowledge and apply it when a real person is standing in front of them.

I wanted them to be able to observe and see the details others miss.

I didn’t care if they could memorize the science, I wanted them to be able to communicate in a way their client understands.

And now probably the most important part! Can they actually manage their own energy, and understand how that energy impacts the person they’re coaching!

over the 48 hours while learning how to coach the seven general movement patterns, in each one of those moments teaching them how to build relationships that make people trust you enough to truly coach them gains and again.

That’s what DBC Level One is built around.

Yes, we teach the science of biomechanics and human movement. But we also teach the things that are much harder to learn from a textbook, how to observe, communicate, connect, and actually coach.

And somewhere throughout that process, something else happens.

40 coaches who may have walked into the room as strangers leave with relationships, a network, and a community that extends far beyond the certification itself.

That’s what makes the @dbcfit Level One Certification different.
You walk in as an independent and you leave part of a family.

When I decided to step into the education side of the fitness industry, it was never about being the smartest person in the room.

It was about creating something that made coaches better at what actually matters, coaching.

Less emphasis on memorizing information from a textbook just to pass a test, and more emphasis on understanding how to take the science and apply it when a real person is standing in front of you.

It’s about hearing how other coaches communicate with their clients. Learning how much your energy matters inside every session, every set, and every rep. Understanding that what you say, how you say it, and how you connect with the person in front of you can be just as important as the exercise you choose.

There’s something incredibly powerful about sharing that experience with 40 other coaches.

Some walk into the room confident. Some walk in intimidated. Some are somewhere in between.

But by the end of the weekend, none of that matters.

Everyone is learning. Everyone is coaching. Everyone is being coached. Everyone is getting better.

That’s why I still haven’t put DBC education online.

For me, it’s quality over quantity.

Every coach who comes through DBC Level One gets the science, but more importantly, they get the hands-on practical experience required to actually apply it.

They learn how to observe. How to communicate. How to coach. When to progress. When to regress. And when to make an adjustment because what’s written on paper doesn’t match what’s happening in front of them.

Because knowledge alone doesn’t make someone a great coach.

Application does.

My goal has always been to give coaches the reps, sharpen their eye, and expand the lens through which they see movement and coaching.

You can memorize information.

But NOTHING replaces the hands-on time needed to truly understand the art of coaching.

What Does a Musculoskeletal Assessment tell is and why is it important for trainers to learn how to perform them?

Technology can show us what is happening during movement. A comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment helps us understand why it is happening.

EMG sensors can provide information about muscular activity and recruitment patterns. Force plates can quantify how an individual produces, absorbs, and distributes force. Both provide valuable data and can help identify asymmetries, compensations, and movement inefficiencies.

But identifying a movement dysfunction is only the beginning.

Before attempting to correct it, we need to determine what is driving that movement strategy.

Is the individual moving that way because of a physical limitation, such as restricted joint mobility, tissue extensibility, or available range of motion?

Or do they possess the necessary physical capacity, but demonstrate a learned movement strategy, coordination issue, or habitual pattern?

These are two very different problems, and they should not automatically receive the same intervention.

The DBC Orthopedic Assessment allows us to differentiate between what an individual physically cannot do and what they simply do not do during movement.

That distinction provides us with the information necessary to make better decisions regarding corrective exercise, mobility, movement retraining, and ultimately performance programming.

Before we attempt to change how someone moves, we must first understand why they move that way in the first place.

10 years ago, I set out to create a certification that would truly impact the fitness industry.

I never wanted to create a course that measured how well a trainer could memorize complicated information, take a test and pass it.

I wanted to know something much more important:

Can you actually coach?

Can you take the information you’ve learned and apply it in real time?

Can you see the small details that separate a good coach from a great one?

Can you communicate it with passion and enthusiasm in a way your clients actually understand, connect with and feel?

Because great coaching has never been about showing people how smart you are. It’s about how effectively you can use what you know to make the person in front of you better.

Over the past two years, I’ve made more changes to this course than ever before, with one objective: trainers shouldn’t leave simply knowing more. They should leave coaching better.

I can’t begin to explain how incredible this weekend was.

10 years later, this course is still evolving.
10 years later, coaches are still investing in their craft.
And 10 years later, we’re still selling out.

For that, I’m incredibly humbled and grateful.

Shout out to my coaches that help me take this to the next level this weekend! 🫡
