This colorful, layered, and fully dimensional dining room is where conversations begin, lives are reinvented and reimagined, and the family gathers to share love and laughter with one another. Each hue and texture adds depth to the moment, turning everyday meals into celebrations and ordinary evenings into cherished memories. Here, togetherness takes center stage, and every plate, chair, and glance becomes a note in a living, breathing story of family, warmth, and joy. @archdigestpolska @1stdibs @roseuniacke @unamalan by @davidbriansanders

@casavoguebrasil A wink of cognac, a lot of comfort. Our breakfast nook with sultry lighting from @unamalan, a bespoke table by @customcraftupholsters, and a chair from @designwithinreach. Sexy, chic, and irresistibly cozy. @davidbriansanders by @davidbriansanders

Details make the design. ✨

A polished brass faucet set against black marble — this is where a kitchen goes from beautiful to unforgettable. I always tell my clients: invest in the pieces you touch every day. You feel the quality every single time.

Happy Saturday, loves. — David

The holidays are coming, and around here, entertaining season prep starts early. Fresh olive branches, a tuned piano, and two very serious supervisors making sure every detail is exactly right.

Because the best gatherings aren't about perfection — they're about the people (and pups) around the table. 🐾

How do you want to feel at 7am?

Before I draw a single line of a kitchen, that's the question I ask. Not how many seats. Not how much storage. How do you want to feel when the morning light comes through the window and the coffee's on?

This kitchen was designed around a slow morning — warm oak, handmade tile, desert light pouring in. A room that holds you before the day begins.

Design for the feeling first. The floor plan follows.

One of my all-time favorites. This room, anchored by a floor-to-ceiling black marble fireplace veined like lightning, was featured in Architectural Digest Middle East in March 2022 — and it still stops me in my tracks. Proof that when the bones are right, great design never dates.

From floor plans to frying pans 👨‍🍳✨

Honored to be featured in the Designers Who Cook series by @theluxurykitchen — I took over their West Hollywood showroom kitchen and cooked an Asian-inspired Cobb salad lunch for a room full of designers, architects, and dear friends. Because the most beautiful kitchen is the one you actually cook in.

Unpopular opinion: the open floor plan had its moment, and I'm ready for walls again.

There's a reason the best parties end up in the kitchen — people want rooms with a point of view, not one long runway of space. A doorway creates anticipation. A wall gives art somewhere to live. And a dining room with actual walls? That's where the two-hour dinners happen.

Give me a floor plan with chapters over one long sentence, every time.

Agree or am I starting a fight? 👇

Stone is never just a surface. It sets the emotional temperature of a room.

For this young man's bathroom in Hancock Park, I chose a veined porcelain with the soul of marble and the stamina of stone — masculine in its scale and drama, feminine in the soft, smoky movement of the veining. It wraps the shower walls, the niche, and the vanity in one continuous gesture, so the whole room reads as a single carved volume.

This is how I choose stone: it has to hold both energies, and it has to earn every square inch.

Some rooms don't need an introduction — they just need to be felt.

The Fairway Drive living room is complete: a rustic stone wall and warm wood beams, softened by cream bouclé, sculptural glass pendants, and a grand piano waiting for its next audience. Desert modern, done the David Brian Sanders way.

Day one is officially in the books. By noon, this kitchen went from builder-grade and tired to a completely stripped shell, tile floor gone, cabinets and countertops gone, plumbing exposed, nothing left but bones. Watching a room you’ve lived in for years disappear that fast is honestly a little surreal.

No sledgehammers were harmed in the making of this video (turns out pry bars and reciprocating saws do the job just fine), but that song’s staying anyway. Six to eight weeks to go.

Follow along as we build the whole thing back up from here. 🔨

22 years of seeing what a renovation does for a home's value when it sells. Now I'm living the process myself for the first time.
