The other day someone asked me what I meant when I said “delayed gratification” in a post.

Delayed gratification means doing what we HAVE to do today so we can do what we WANT to do tomorrow - what we want, when we want, where we want, with who we want, and (this is my favorite part) AS MUCH AS WE WANT!! And it is one of the absolute single most important principles in achieving anything extraordinary in life.

You see, life is fair. It gives us whatever we ask of it. The problem is most people ask it for small, incremental, immediate pleasures instead of putting in the work, focus, determination, sacrifice, and delayed gratification “NOW” so we can revel in the ultimate pleasures of life “LATER”. We’ve got to pay the price at one time or the other. It does not work any other way.

Perhaps more impactfully, what if we do what we *want* to do today, and end up having to do what we *have* to do tomorrow - I mean, for the rest of our lives?
It’s frustration or fairytale. I don’t know about you, but F that. I’ll take the fairytale by @daviddeanimpact
