The US premiere of Chrysalis, presented by the Beverly Hills Film Festival in April 2027, will coincide with the 52nd anniversary of the end of the war in Vietnam. It will introduce the film’s story of family, displacement and remembrance to U.S. audiences while building on its Vietnam response.

“Chrysalis” made its market debut at the 2026 Marché du Film in Cannes, where it held two market screenings. At DANAFF IV, Kieu Chinh received the Screen Excellence Merit Award for her screen career spanning nearly seven decades and more than 100 roles.

At the Los Angeles Tribune International Film Festival, the film received five honors: Best Feature Film; Best Director for J. Robert Schulz; Best Actress for Kieu Chinh; Best Child Actor for nine-year-old Vietnamese actor Uy Nhan; and Best Orchestral Score for Motion Picture for “Chrysalis,” composed by Elia Cmiral. At nine, Uy Nhan became LATIFF’s inaugural Best Child Actor and one of the youngest documented Vietnamese recipients of a U.S. film-festival acting award. @thekieuchinh @sirdanielwinn @tienphammusic @chrysalismovie2026 by @daviddubinsky

At the premiere of our film, GREEN LAVA, a beautiful and deeply moving documentary set in the breathtaking Dolomites of Italy about a 22-year-old Giacomo Mattivi, who lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and refuses to let his condition define him. After losing his brother to the same disease, Giacomo embraces life, friendship, family, nature and his own search for meaning, wisdom and love.

It was incredibly special to be part of this powerful film and to celebrate its premiere with such an inspiring team.

GREEN LAVA is screening for one week only in Beverly Hills, September 18–24 at Lumiere Music Hall, as the film moves toward submission for Oscar consideration in the Documentary Short Film category. Check out some of the recent press articles in English, Italian, and Spanish.

Congratulations to Directors Lia Beltrami and Ali Aksu.
