Figuring myself out while performing

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I literally woke up this morning and said, “Let’s do this trend.” 😂

So I started disturbing my friends for videos… and they actually came through. And honestly? I have some insanely talented people in my life.

This is just the tip of the iceberg though. Part 2 is definitely on the way. 👀🎤

For now, enjoy this one and have fun watching!

Big shoutout to @zeeksong for the inspiration. I saw yours and absolutely loved it. 🤍✨ by @davidgarland_

SPOTTED

I was reading the story of Jacob and Laban, and something about the spotted animals really stayed with me.

Jacob asked for the animals that were speckled, spotted and streaked. The ones that looked different from the rest of the flock. And somehow, these were the very animals through which Jacob’s wealth began to multiply.

Then I thought about David.

David was hiding in a cave when people started gathering around him — people who were distressed, in debt and discontented. Not exactly the people you would expect to become a mighty army.

But David became their captain.

And eventually, those same men became known as his mighty men.

It made me think about how easily we can look at something different, overlooked or seemingly undesirable and assume it has less value.

But God has never really needed things to look conventional before He could use them.

Sometimes the mark is the distinction.

Two passages to read:

Genesis 30:32

“I will pass through all thy flock to day, removing from thence all the speckled and spotted cattle…”

1 Samuel 22:1–2

“And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them…”

Go read both stories for yourself. 🤍

Give a little kindness. 🤍

With Yellow Sunset, we decided to clear a few heads at the University of Lagos, just as a little reminder that the smallest acts of kindness can mean so much to someone.

You never really know the impact a little gesture can have. So, be kind. Be a blessing. Give a little.

We’ll be sharing more videos from this encounter across our platforms, so keep an eye out. And who knows? You might just see us somewhere close to you, spreading a little love. ❤️

Also, forgive the slightly long video and my junky editing. 😂 by @davidgarland_

This chapter feels grown.
It feels like lessons learned, evolving, and becoming more and more myself. It feels like finally seeing myself — and seeing how kind and faithful God has been through it all.

I’m excited for what’s next. 🤍
