This weekend at work people have been saying crazy things like “Everything sounds better here,” “Keep up the initiative, this is what this city needs,” and “It’s gotten noticeably better since you started working here” so I guess things are going well. They also keep saying “This is like old Austin!” whatever that means. Also, can’t believe Austin has the world’s best photographer @theladywiththechipsandsalsa and I got to work with her again 😍 by @davidj.edwards

🌊 This is what catharsis looks like… we are a band that believes in the power of art, alchemy, community healing and fighting the good fight. We are an independent, DIY band & have been since the start. We fund everything we do out of our own pockets. When we played this @sonicguildatx showcase a few months ago, lemme tell you how we put all of our entire hearts into it. “Evolution: Sophie Seng Live with Strings” is out now on all streaming platforms (i also have CDs for sale if ur old school!!) links are all in my bio 🤍this is my first ever live album, and it is so special to have a recording of my favorite show i’ve ever performed. i hope this album makes u feel the way it did in the room that night ❤️now for the obligatory short novel of thank you’s:first off - i wanna give a massive shoutout to @davidj.edwards !! this album would not have been possible without you!! y’all… david not only recorded the album, but he ran live sound that night, provided all the audio equipment, then mixed AND mastered the project with so much skill and care!! so hyped we were able to make this together 🫶 thank you thank you thank youuuuuanother giant thank you to the players on stage that night!! @natnantucket @anthonyleerogers @princealeigh @_halelynn y’all really put the “with strings” into “live with strings” (ha) but for real though - thank you for playing my arrangements so skillfully & musically! so grateful to get to work with such talented musicians!!! ⭐️& thank you to my favorite designer ever @gabriellepulgar who designed the cover art, overlays, and CDs for this project 💌 your work always matches the vibe of my projects so perfectly!! thank u to @anfernee.music for filming this whole concert!! it’s been so fun looking thru all of this beautiful footage - i’ll put together a full concert video soon! so y’all be on the lookout!!& finally - thank u to everyone who came to the concert that night ❣️ your energy, kind words, and openheartedness truly created the space to make this live album shine!! y’all are the best!! and thank YOU who made it to the bottom of this extraordinarily long caption .. and who will (hopefully) listen to the album next! y’all’s support means a lot to me - being an independent artist gal isn’t especially easy, but connecting with y’all makes it all worth it 💫ok rant OVER! go listen in headphones, shed a tear, crack a smile… whatever you gotta feel, go feel it. love you all so much. xo by @davidj.edwards

Its official! SXSW official anyways … honored to be playing a SXSW official show w @glassmansions this Saturday at none other than Elysium. It’s the final night of SX, and I don’t know about you but I feel it’s the perfect grand finale to this crazy festival. I’m thankful to be working like a dog this entire 10 days, and excited to cap it off with a killer show that I can relax/party at. We play at 9pm, and it’s party time all night long. The whole bill is honestly stacked with beloved and talented locals, and at a badass Red River venue to boot. Did I mention how grateful I am for this show? And how hard I’ve been working?? And how it is literally the last night of SXSW??? Our set is gonna rip. Let’s party. by @davidj.edwards
