“Lineage of Light”

This original work is a vibrant mosaic-like tableau that reflects a deeply personal spiritual journey through the lens of ancient philosophy.

Drawing on archetypal figures and symbolic forms, the piece weaves together themes of ancestral wisdom, transformation, and sacred connection. Each figure appears as both individual and collective—guardians, seekers, or embodiments of elemental forces—standing within a framework of golden lines reminiscent of stained glass or temple mosaics.

The stylized, segmented aesthetic echoes ancient civilizations’ visual storytelling—from Mesoamerican to African and Indigenous traditions—where art served as a bridge between the physical and metaphysical.

The color palette of radiant reds, yellows, purples, and greens symbolizes different stages of awakening: vitality, enlightenment, inner mystery, and harmony with nature.

Placed against a luminous white backdrop, the figures seem to glow with spiritual clarity, their bold outlines channeling the structured chaos of the sacred path. The arrangement suggests a narrative of evolution: from emergence and innocence, through initiation and self-realization, to balance with nature and inner truth.

This piece is not only a reflection of my spiritual development but also an invitation for the viewer to explore their own place within the universal cycle of growth, purpose, and unity.

"Meditation on New Mexico"

This painting, a vibrant mosaic of colors and shapes, it evokes the eternal interplay between nature, culture, and spirit in the land of New Mexico. Fragmented like memory yet whole in its essence, the image tells a story that transcends time. It is not merely a depiction of a landscape—it is a mirror of the soul of the Southwest.

On the left, tipis rise like rooted prayers against a mosaic sun. The rays carrying the sacred symbol of the Zia, a motif representing the four cardinal directions, the four seasons, the four times of life, and the four sacred obligations. These rays remind us of balance, of life lived in harmony with nature and community.

The central fire is not only a source of light but a symbol of spiritual continuity—of stories passed from ancestors to descendants in the flicker of flame. Here, the fire is the heartbeat of the land, echoing the rhythms of drums, footsteps, and time itself. The figures are frozen in motion, eternal in their expression, suggesting that culture is not static it dances, evolves, yet holds its roots deep.

Ultimately this painting is not just an aesthetic experience, it is an invitation to reflect. It asks us: What does it mean to belong? To endure? To celebrate? It reminds us that New Mexico is more than a place, it is a way of being, where sky and soil, past and present, converge in sacred symmetry.

"Contours of Thought"

This painting is a meditative journey through abstraction, constructed with flowing lines, organic shapes, and intricate dot work. The interplay between the dark background and the precise, luminous white dots invites contemplation and introspection. Each segmented area feels like a discrete thought or emotion, bordered by pathways of understanding, much like how the mind navigates complexity in pursuit of clarity.

The composition reflects the philosophical idea of interconnectedness—how all things, no matter how fragmented or chaotic, belong to a larger, cohesive whole. The repetitive dotting technique evokes a sense of mindfulness and presence, suggesting the meditative process of slowly building awareness, moment by moment.

The blue outlines subtly reinforce the idea of hidden depth and serenity, while the varying patterns within sections suggest the layers of consciousness and the ever-evolving nature of personal growth and understanding.

Solar Guardian: The Path of the Spiritual Warrior

Radiating from a circular field of crimson and gold, this painting channels the archetype of the spiritual warrior—an ancient guardian forged from knowledge, discipline, and sacred fire.

The central figure, armored in vibrant hues of yellow, blue, and red, stands in ceremonial stance, poised between the earthly and the divine. With its mosaic-like structure and symmetrical design, the piece evokes the glyphs of lost civilizations and the encoded wisdom of ancient texts.

The bold, stained-glass effect suggests clarity through fragmentation—each piece a trial, a teaching, a victory. At its core, this work is a self-portrait in symbol: a testament to a life devoted to the inner battle for truth, transformation, and illumination.

Spirit Web: Reflections from the Dreaming

Born of time spent immersed in the raw beauty of Australia and the introspective depths of shamanic practice, this painting pulses with ancestral memory and sacred geometry.

Radiating outward in a rhythmic, mandala-like flow, the interconnected forms and dot work evoke the Dreamtime stories of the land—echoes of nature, spirit, and ancient ceremony. The palette, both grounding and luminous, draws from earth, sky, and sacred fire. Woven through the composition is a sense of movement and transformation, as if the canvas itself breathes. This work is a portal: a visual meditation on the threads that bind the physical and spiritual worlds, inviting viewers to journey inward and outward simultaneously. #shaman #australia #memories #portal #web #art #culture #abstractart #artist #abstractartist #acrylicpainting #handpainted #homemade #goodluck #dream #warrior #sacredgeometry by @davidjonshing

From the Year of the Dragon emerges a visceral fusion of myth and texture—a sculptural mask bursts from the canvas like a relic of an ancient creature, frozen mid-roar. Its jagged horns and raw, scaled surface are caked in splashes of red and white, echoing the primal energy of the background. The bold red pattern—organic, cellular, almost reptilian—sprawls across the canvas like dragonhide or molten veins. Together, the raised form and painted field blur the boundaries between painting and sculpture, ancient and modern, symbolic and surreal. This piece invites the viewer to confront a powerful force: one part guardian, one part monster, and wholly unforgettable. #art #ancient #cubism #abstractart #artist #cubismartist #dragon #abstractartist #acrylicpainting #mystery #handpainted #geometricart #style#homemade by @davidjonshing
