David Leonardo @davidlnrdo

David works across writing and photography. Primarily working with analogue photography, his practice is shaped by an interest in observation, narrative, and the emotional texture of everyday life. Coming from a background in copywriting, he approaches image-making through sequencing, mood, and the relationship between image and feeling. His work moves between directed and documentary forms, often exploring how lived conditions, memory, and changing realities can be translated into images.

LIGHT LINGERS

A five-image black-and-white analogue photo series developed around Stefanie, who lives with a rare form of sarcoma. Through a sequence of directed portraits, the work reflects on what happens when the body no longer feels entirely familiar. Hair loss, surgical traces, and repeated encounters with reflection become part of an ongoing condition rather than isolated moments. Rather than framing the body through recovery or resistance, the work stays close to lived experience, considering resilience as the act of remaining with oneself through uncertainty and change.
