Just finished the 2020s comic book adaptation of GOOSEBUMPS THE HAUNTED MASK. And wow this was neat. It is a great visual reproduction of the classic book. The artwork really does the trick. Both spooky and fun. #goosebumps #rlstine #maddigonzalez #hauntedmask #thehauntedmask by @davidofborg

Just finished TOUGH GUY by Rachel Reid. Third in the Game Changers series. This book was okay. The main characters Ryan and Fabian are charming and tell important stories such as male mental health and the physical toll of professional sports. But just like Reid’s other books it’s about 70% raunchy sex scenes and 30% actual character development. I’d like to have gotten to know these guys a bit better. They could not make a whole episode of the show from this book…I guess that’s why the characters are being rolled into the plot of Season 2.

Just finished RL Stine’s latest Goosebumps book: HOUSE OF SHIVERS #7 WHAT WE DO AT NIGHT(2026). Another fun one that proves old man Stine still has it! Can’t wait for the next book!! This one had the usual spooky twists and turns. And the signature twist ending. Bottom line: not every club is worth joining…especially if it’s after your bedtime. #rlstine #goosebumps #houseofshivers #goosebumpshouseofshivers by @davidofborg

Just finished BLIND DATE (1986) By RL Stine. This was a historical book for Stine fans. It was his very first YA scary book. He was a humor writer. A publishing exec convinced him to write one teen horror book and call it Blind Date. So he grudgingly did it. It became a Bestseller and the rest is history...Anyhow, this was good book for sure. It was thrilling and somewhat unpredictable. A lot of interesting plot devices like the mysterious mentally ill brother, memory loss...and a girl who was too good to be true. #rlstine #blinddate by @davidofborg

Just finished HEARTSTOPPER VOLUME 6 by Alice Oseman. It is the FINAL volume and the end of the Nick and Charlie story. This was a very touching story from Volume 1 to the finish. I don't think we could have asked for a better conclusion. That being said...if you were expecting a definitive "conclusion"...no...we didn't get that. You might have been expecting answers to the questions "how are they going to survive past high school?" "How are they going to survive into adulthood?" Those questions are not answered. Either the author couldn't come up with a solid enough way to do that or they just felt this was a better way to conclude their saga. Just say "we're Nick and Charlie...we're special" "We'll beat the odds"...
That being said. It was nice conclusion and stuck the landing gently. I would have liked the show to adapt this book into a full length 4th season. But I suspect (based on press and candids I've seen) the actors got too big for their britches and a movie was the best we could get.

Just finished HEATED RIVALRY by Rachel Reid. Really good book. Again...not for kids. Not repetitive like the first book in the series. Game Changer. The story is really honest about the reality of a same sex relationship...especially male...in professional sports. It is very charming and quirky and humorous. ...and horny. Nice to read this after watching the first season of the TV series. Expanded my view of it. The tv series definitely does it justice. But it's good to read the whole story. #heatedrivalry #gamechanger #rachelreid #shanehollander #lgbt #lgbtq #ilyarozanov by @davidofborg

Just finished RL Stine’s latest Goosebumps book: HOUSE OF SHIVERS #6 ONE NIGHT AT CAMP BIGFOOT (2026). 🏕️⛺️🐺🫈🫈Even more proof that Stine still has it! This was a really good, fun one…written really well! Some legends are real. And sometimes the legend is a big wimp. This was a fun one…just like any other Goosebumps camp book. Lots of spooky twists and turns and Stine humor. #goosebumps #goosebumpshouseofshivers #houseofshivers #rlstine by @davidofborg

Went to see the new THE RUNNING MAN!! Great movie! I've been a fan of the Schwarzenegger version since I was a kid. But I do have to say this one did a great job and stands on its own. Also, it was MUCH CLOSER to the book (I read it). #therunningman #stephenking #glennpowell #benrichards by @davidofborg

Saw THE LONG WALK (Stephen King) today. GREAT MOVIE. Brutal and dismal. Just as expected. Great story and writing. And all the actors really knocked it out of the park. Can't wait to buy it and watch it again. #thelongwalk #stephenking #cooperhoffman #garrettwareing @garrettwareing #davidjonsson #markhamill by @davidofborg

I finished (re)reading my 41st Goosebumps book for my adult re-read of the original series. THE CURSE OF CAMP COLD LAKE. (1997). I always enjoy Stine's books about camp. This one did not disappoint. I guess you could say not everyone likes summer camp and some kids have better reasons that others. Sometimes camp really KILLS! Something about a kid trapped out in the woods in the middle of nowhere just adds a layer of spooky. AND, as usual, a great Stine twist ending!! ..…. #goosebumps #goosebumpsbooks #rlstine #childhood #camp #thecurseofcampcoldlake by @davidofborg

Finished THE OVERNIGHT 🔥⛺️🏕️🪵 by RL Stine.(1989). Another great one. Don't mess with loons, and even if it's self defense ... always check the body. Also, don't pick on the fat kid. Very well written. And a twist you didn’t see coming in the last act. #rlstine #theovernight #ya #sinister #suspense #horror #murdermystery #campout #murder by @davidofborg
