Happy birthday to our amazing son!
We are so incredibly grateful for him, and we are proud of the amazing young man he has become.
Time really does fly by so quickly.

I started reading Absolute Batman, (yes I know it’s been the rage for 2 years-I am always late to the party) and it is quite good in my opinion.

Issue 19 was my first issue and I was lost, but then I picked up issue 20 and thought it was solid. I’ve now read the first trade (issues 1-6), and I really like it!

Here’s my take on the Batman (posed after Frank Miller’s DKR). I find Batman fun and challenging to draw, and I needed to practice brush inking.

Straight edge = straight lines.
I like to keep the tech very precise and use a looser more organic line on shapes such as the figure and clothing.

Inking with a brush. Every time I no with a brush I remember 2 things:
1. How hard it is
2. How much I like the results and the tactile feel of it

Working out the details of a drawing with pencil first. Just tweaking the little details of everyone’s favorite bat.
