A special milestone for Teo! šŸ’œ

After plenty of hard work and determination, Teo is celebrating his final day of physical therapy at the Paley Institute!

We’re so proud of how far he’s come and can’t wait to see all that he’ll accomplish next.

Congratulations, Teo!

Family workout with an 85-year age gap (sorry Abe drooling on a kettlebell doesn’t count!).

Kettlebells + loud music.

Five-year-olds on the lawn.
My 90-year-old mother doing her version from the porch.
Everyone else somewhere in between.

Different ages. Different abilities. Same goal:

Keep moving.
Get strong.
Stay strong.

Strength is one of the best investments you can make in a long, active life.

Russell kicked our butts.

The next morning…? Oof. I don’t want to talk about it.

This family is STRONG. by @davidsfeldmanmd

Dinner with Doctors🄘

Thank you to the entire Team Feldman, led by Dr. Feldman (@davidsfeldmanmd), who took a break from their incredible work at The Paley Spine & Orthopedic Center (@paleyinstitute) to provide Asado Food Truck for QH families!

The Argentinian Steakhouse specialties delighted Quantum House families and provided a time for practitioners and patients alike to enjoy a meal together. taken in Quantum House by @davidsfeldmanmd

The nurses run the show.

They know what patients need before they ask, what surgeons need before they say it, and how to keep everything moving when the rest of us are still looking for the chart.

Meet Osiris.

With more than 20 years of experience in orthopedic trauma, complex surgery, and post-operative care, Osiris brings exceptional clinical judgment, calm, and kindness to every patient interaction. She also holds a master’s degree in nursing, reflecting the depth of her education and expertise.

Since joining our team at the Paley Institute in 2025, her impact has been immediate.

Great surgery matters.
Great nursing care matters.

Having an exceptional nurse beside you before surgery, after surgery, and through every step of the recovery process.

We are lucky to have Osiris.

Vacation.

The grandkids had a list of ā€œfun thingsā€ they wanted to do.

Roller coasters.
Amusement parks.
Things that spin.
Things that shot put you to the sky.
Things that apparently require a waiver.

As an orthopedic surgeon, I’ve spent years encouraging people to stay active.

I may have oversold it.

Time spent with the grandkids: priceless.

Recovery time: TBD.

Oof.

MASON

From North Carolina.

Achondroplasia.

Before and after leg-straightening surgery.

For people with achondroplasia, bowing of the legs can affect alignment, movement, and how the joints handle pressure over time. It can also cause pain, fatigue, instability, and discomfort with walking, running, and everyday activity.

For Mason, surgery helped create straighter, better-aligned legs and a stronger foundation moving forward.

Small changes in alignment can make a big difference in function, comfort, and the long-term health of growing joints.

Go Mason! šŸ’™

This is Maya.āš½ļø

Hip dysplasia.
A PAO.
And now, soccer.

PAO (periacetabular osteotomy) is a pretty remarkable operation: we cut the pelvis, reposition the hip socket for better coverage, and let the body heal in its new geometry.

Yes. We moved her hip socket.

Why?

So Maya could move everything else.

Run.
Cut.
Kick.
Compete.

Back on the field and in life, doing what she loves.

GOOOOOOAL.āš½ļø

ZoeešŸ’™

Achondroplasia.
Spinal stenosis.
Chiari malformation.

For seven months, she endured constant headaches, neck pain, and numbness and tingling in her arms and hands.

Nothing helped.

Chiari malformation occurs when the lower brain extends into the spinal canal, putting pressure where the brain and spine meet. Specialized imaging finally revealed the cause.

Zoee underwent Chiari decompression surgery to create more room and relieve the pressure.

When she woke up?

No headache.

Not ā€œa little better.ā€
Not ā€œwe’ll see how it goes.ā€

NO HEADACHE!

For the first time in seven months.

Medicine and anatomy can be complicated. But sometimes the answer is simple:

You have to know what you’re looking for.

The right diagnosis, imaging, and specialized care matter.

Sometimes, making a little more room changes everything.

Go, Zoee.šŸ’™

Teo.

From Poland.
Dwarfism.
And a spine that needed a very specialized plan.

Spinal deformity in dwarfism isn’t simply scoliosis in a smaller body. The anatomy is different. The space around the spinal cord can be tighter. And millimeters matter.

These before-and-after images are dramatic.

But the real result isn’t the X-ray.

It’s what the correction is designed to give Teo: a stronger, more balanced spine, better function and mobility, and protection for the years of growing still ahead.

We straighten the spine.

The bigger goal is what Teo gets to do with it.

Go, Teo.

Meet Scotti.

I mean… C U T E !

One very little hip.

Hip dysplasia runs in Scotti’s family, so her family knew to check early.

That matters.

In babies, the hip is still developing. When dysplasia is caught early, a brace can help hold the hip in the right position and guide healthy development as they grow. Early intervention will have an enormous and lifelong impact.

For Scotti, that means a new brace.

A little adjusting. Zero discomfort.

And a very good head start.

Early awareness matters.
Family history matters.
Timing matters.

What a CUTIE!

Go Scottiā¤ļø
