Japan on film.

This trip gave me space to slow down, look around, and think about the kind of work I want to keep making.

Japan reminded me that the strongest things are often the most considered. Not the loudest. Not the most overbuilt. But the most considered.

That applies to product, hospitality, relationships, design, and how you move through a city.

I came back thinking more about the standard than the inspiration. taken in Japan by @davidsvgaray

Honored to have a part of our story told. It still feels surreal at times to fully comprehend that Pirate is living in the Getty Museum. We’ve come a long way, yet we still have a ways to go. Artful only designs.

We’ve always designed with the belief that our work belonged in a museum, now the museum agrees.

Working with the Getty has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my career. Over a year of development, viewing archives, studying art, and creating something that feels like it’s always belonged there.

To see our work displayed in a museum, surrounded by centuries of art, is a full circle moment. A reminder that what starts as an idea, when nurtured with belief and discipline, can turn into something timeless.

Grateful for everyone who believed, contributed, and has shown up along the way.
