This is an album I have been thinking about for ages, since I discovered metal as a genre. I took heavy inspiration from my favourite bands like @primitivemandoom @blvcktongue and @sanguisugaboggband in the songwriting aspects and then I thought about how I could add my own touch to it.
Extreme music lives and dies with bad sound quality, and intentionally harsh mixing and mastering. My idea was to use my DAW (as I don't have access to live instruments) to engineer a new kind of rawness, keeping in the clicking and popping, and imperfections in vocal takes, as well as dialing in the harshest tone I could for my drums and guitars. I know this won't be everyone's cup of tea, and I don't expect it to be, but for those of you who do enjoy it, I hope it scratches an itch you didn't know you had, and you come away from it wanting more.
