Hi everyone! First, a life update. I, Taylor, started my MBA at Cornell and managing this business and adjusting to being a grad student was MUCH more difficult than I anticipated. My sincerest apologies for the hiatus and I'm excited to be back!

With all the talk in the news about an “impending recession,” I thought it would be helpful to share the actual definition. Recessions are a normal part of the economic cycle, typically spurred by a widespread decrease in spending. Nobody can predict the markets, only speculate based on historical data and behavior.

How many of you use this tactic? I typically don’t carry cash, but when I do I definitely find myself spending less. It’s much harder to hand over cash than swipe a card! Comment below!

If a child can ask “Can we pleaseeee buy this!?” A child can understand money! I was probably 4 or 5 when my dad starting teaching me about money- and it wasn’t just about allowance or what money is- he taught me about stock and ownership! Try these three ways to introduce your child about money: •
1. Earning money- getting money for tasks instead of (or in addition to) giving it.
2. Budgeting- how will you make those $10 last a week?
3. Saving- especially for older kids, get them to understand saving their money by allowing them to save up for that big purchase they want instead of buying it for them. •
Growing up, all of these lessons helped me to become more knowledgeable about money- comment below how you were introduced to money!

#WednesdayWisdom Every so often it's good to revisit your budget and make sure your spending is still aligned with your current needs and goals. This is a high level guideline for how your income can be allocated within your budget. If budgeting monthly leaves too much room to get off track (we've all been there!) then try budgeting weekly to better establish the habit.
