Writing about my career, I found myself struggling to find the words, how to encapsulate 15 years of my life into one silly Instagram post, trying to create a paragraph that tells my athletic story. But that’s when it hits me: it was never about the outside congratulations, the personal awards. I never made it about me; I never wanted to.

It was about who I played it with. We play the sport we care about, not because we prefer a ball and stick to a stick and puck. But because somewhere in our journey, we made connections with a teammate or a coach. A connection so strong we decided that this is who I care about now and what I want to care about. For me, this holds. I moved multiple times to find my lacrosse home. To me, the connections that I built with these GVSU teams have been a highlight of my career. From new friends, building better connections with old ones. I thank every one of you for contributing to my overly positive experience here at GVSU, to my coaches, thank you for being supportive, and helping me learn the game.

To the 2026 GVSU team, we climbed the mountain; now it’s your turn to defend it. It will never be easy, but that’s the point. Why do something easy? There’s nothing fun in that. I hope each of you knows how much you have meant to me. Getting to watch you guys play next year puts a smile on my face. I wish I could stay #30 forever and be there for you all. But my journey isn’t done yet, and I have new challenges to face. But the lesson we learned together will help push through them. With goals to walk on to Michigan for one last ride, you all have given me the confidence and the reason to strive for greatness and to never give up.

OverWatch 2 is a game based on how good your tank is. If you have a trash tank you lose. OverWatch 2 makes me want to cry and go back to val. We’re I absolutely fucking drop kids. Also this is my girlfriend Regan. She’s amazing ❤️❤️ by @davisyork_
