Shapes and shadows.So overdue! It’s been forever since I posted - I have so much to share and always get overwhelmed with what to select or wonder if this is something people will enjoy seeing. I’m always drawn to shapes and shadows - on walls, pavements, surfaces. The way light creates interesting shapes that sometimes disappear in the blink of an eye. I’m not looking for them - they seem to appear in front of me. Moving and mesmerizing. Many moons ago Derek Moore and I worked together at VTR, a post production house in Soho, London. In the years that followed Derek co-founded Coffee & TV and with his amazing team took the company from a start up to a world-class creative studio group with offices in London, New York, Austin and Los Angeles. What a treat to take Derek’s portrait at Coffee & TV’s LA office recently. It was a welcome trip down memory lane to be in the flame suite - not as the flame artist but as a portrait photographer. As I look back at my previous career as a visual effects artist and now as a photographer - the dots join perfectly and I now combine my skills and experience, blending the two worlds into one. by @dawnboweryphotography

A wonderful few hours spent at @king_johns_nursery last weekend enjoying the beautiful surroundings and all the stalls selling delicious food, clothes, crafts and flowers. I was given these gorgeous dahlias by Ramona cranbrook_flowers. The pretty green glass bottles are in the sweet little cafe - the light coming in illuminates the contents of the jar making it look so magical. Los Angeles built me, tested me, and gave me my fight. I was in a dark and lonely place when I received the calling to be a lawyer. It gave me a purpose and a dream. The law saved my life. What makes this city great are the hardworking people who work here. That’s why I love employment law because it connects me with their stories, and in a way, with my own. I know how difficult the journey can be. It’s an honor to be a Los Angeles employment lawyer. I don’t take this license for granted.
