Chicago brunch lovers… STOP scrolling if you’re looking for a brunch spot worth leaving the house for!

Because not every brunch is created equal. Some places just serve food… and then there are places that create an entire experience, bring people together, and leave you planning your next visit before you even leave.

That’s exactly what I found at @dawnchicago , a Black woman-owned, minority-owned brunch gem located in the historic town of Hyde Park in Chicago, Illinois. ✨

I ordered the fried chicken and cornbread French toast, and this combination was everything! The cornbread French toast had the most amazing custard texture and was topped with a delicious peach compote that added the perfect burst of sweetness.

And you already know I’m choosing the dark meat! The fried chicken was juicy, flavorful, and paired with a fresh, hot maple herb sauce that took it to another level.

But it wasn’t just the food that stood out. The stylish atmosphere, welcoming energy, and incredible hospitality made this the perfect place for brunch with friends, family, or anyone you want to share a good meal with.

Pro tip: Street parking is available, and reservations are highly recommended online. I was able to walk in, but this spot stays busy for a reason… the food speaks for itself!
