🎧 Project Hail Mary — loved this one and loved the movie too! The audio audible original is 💯

🎧Emma Lion Volumes 7 and 8 by @bethbrower — all the stars and even better the second time around

🎧Switchboard Soldiers by @jenniferchiaveriniauthor — I loved this book!

📖Who was George Washington Carver? — great read aloud about a great man

📲The Lumber Baron’s Wife by @lynnaustinbooks — fantastic historical fiction about something I knew very little about

📲The Answer is No by @backmansk — fantastic short story by Backman!

Well here we are again! Year 9 of homeschooling started today!
Malachi 8th
Levi 5th
Simeon Kindergarten

It’s crazy to me that they’re all the ages and grades they are, but Simeon in kindergarten is extra crazy. I remember thinking when he was a baby that when he was in kindergarten, Malachi would be in 8th grade, and I couldn’t even wrap my brain around that. The days can be long, but the years are flying by! 💙💙💙 by @dawnsreadingnook

I brought some puzzles I was done with to the library, and Malachi thought I should grab this one as my exchange. I was leery of it as it looked so hard, but I actually really enjoyed doing it! Now can I go to a castle please?!

This boy of ours is THIRTEEN today. I am immensely grateful for the gift of raising Malachi and so proud of the person he is. When I’ve told people Malachi was almost a teenager, many have negative responses to the teenage years. I believe every season of parenting is a gift with highs and lows, and we are choosing to embrace the journey and walk alongside him as God guides and directs his steps. I’m so grateful I get to be part of Malachi’s story! ❤️

He had 13 friends over for his party yesterday. Such a fun day with a baseball game at the park, whiffle ball in the yard, and basketball in the culdesac. Instagram cut off the picture, but this is part of the group. by @dawnsreadingnook

Project Hail Mary was so well done! I was impressed with how close to the book most of it stayed! Ryan Gosling was fantastic as Ryland Grace, and don’t even get me started on Rocky — my fav character! Amaze amaze amaze!!

Our 12 and 10 year olds really liked it too. They didn’t know anything about the story, so they were confused at some parts but got it as it went along. The reason the rating is pg13 is because of the danger and suspense I’m pretty sure because otherwise this would have been pg.
