For nearly two decades, Jason Dawson has built a reputation as a dynamic DJ, music director, educator and entertainment industry leader, bringing the energy and artistry of the club scene to weddings and events. His career has taken him from some of the country’s premier nightlife venues to high-profile events alongside an extraordinary roster of artists, including Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, LMFAO, Tiësto, Hardwell, Rick Ross, The Chainsmokers, Kaskade, Steve Aoki, Jazzy Jeff, Lil Jon and many more. Jason’s exceptional ear for music and ability to read a crowd quickly distinguished him within the industry, leading to his appointment as Music Director for Big Night Entertainment Group (BNEG), one of New England’s leading hospitality and nightlife groups, with a growing portfolio of venues throughout Boston and Connecticut. His deep understanding of the DJ craft has also lead him to teach the next generation of DJ’s, which he does as an Instructor of DJing at Berklee College of Music in Boston, leading courses in Turntable Technique and Digital DJing Technique. In 2007, Jason founded Dawson Entertainment with a vision to bring the sophistication, energy, and seamless mixing of the nightclub experience to weddings and private events. Today, Dawson Entertainment is a premier entertainment and lighting company, recognized with numerous customer satisfaction awards from The Knot and WeddingWire. At the heart of Jason’s approach is a belief that great entertainment should feel effortless, personal, and completely unique to each celebration. For most weddings we do, we have spent the better part of a year, sometimes two years getting to know the couple. Over this time, we have had multiple meetings getting to know each other and have spent significant time together tailoring what the final vision is for the event. By the time we get to the actual wedding day, we feel like we know our couples pretty well. One of our favorite parts of the big day is watching couples interact with their friends who became family. The most beautiful wedding at Mount Hope in Bristol, Rhode Island. Right along the water with the prettiest coastal views, and Kileigh was seriously the MOST fun bride!! Down for absolutely anything and just so full of love and joy the entire day. I swear this was the summer of white and blue hydrangeas and I was LOVING every second of it!! I photographed them at so many weddings this year and they truly never get old. So elegant, timeless, and coastal, especially for a Rhode Island waterfront wedding. The soft blues and whites against the water at Mount Hope were just sooo pretty!! I love weddings where my couples genuinely start to feel like friends. Getting to know them throughout the process and then spending their wedding day laughing, celebrating, and feeling like I’m just another friend there is one of my favorite parts of what I do. The Glen Manor House Of Portsmouth, RI Built in 1923 and designed by John Russell Pope, this extraordinary estate feels like you have landed in the French countryside. Which is fitting, since it was based on the Petit Trianon at Versailles. The grounds, originally designed by the Olmsted Brothers have a sophisticated elegant feel with garden and water views alike. This venue is a must see, if you are in the beginning stages of wedding planning.
