Being both a mother and an author has shaped so much of this journey. 🫶

So grateful to @darpanmagazine for beautifully sharing the heart behind this series, and the “why” behind creating stories that help children feel seen, understood, and included. 📚 by @daya_discovers

This series began in the most personal way, through motherhood, storytime, and watching my little one experience the world for the very first time.

Creating Daya Discovers has been one of the most meaningful parts of my journey as an author, and I’m so grateful to share it with families who care about connection, representation, and the wonder of early childhood.

If you’ve been following along, thank you. If you’re new here, welcome, I’m truly glad you found us.

I would also love the chance to meet you in person.

Join me for a Meet & Greet at @indigosherwaygardens:

⏰ 11 AM to 3 PM

Come say hello, bring your little ones, and let’s celebrate storytelling together. taken in Toronto Ontario Canada by @daya_discovers

Every message, review, and kind word means more than I can fully put into words. 🩵

To know that Daya Discovers is finding its way into your homes, your storytimes, your little ones’ routines, and even into classrooms is so incredibly special to me.

Hearing how children are connecting with the book, asking to read it again, exploring the touch-and-feel elements, and feeling excited about new experiences is exactly why I created it.

Thank you for your support, your encouragement, and for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. Every review and every message reminds me that this book is reaching the hearts it was meant to reach. ✨ by @daya_discovers

The touch and feel elements in Daya’s First Airplane Ride give little readers something to discover on every page, helping bring the story and the experience of flying to life in a fun, hands on way.

Because sometimes the best way to learn about a new adventure is to explore it for yourself. 📚✨

Fall plans with your little explorer, sorted. 🍂💙

From pumpkin-filled nights and Halloween LEGO fun to midway rides and meeting animals at The Royal, there are so many family-friendly events happening across Toronto and the GTA this season.

Save this for later, send it to another parent, and tell us which one you’re adding to your fall calendar. 🎃✨ by @daya_discovers

What’s in our airport bag? ✈️🩵

A few snacks, favourite toys, something cozy, and a couple of things to keep little hands busy along the way.

And of course, Daya’s First Airplane Ride comes with us too. 📚✨

Fall is such a fun season for little explorers 🍂🌲

A nature walk, a cozy picnic, or even a simple scavenger hunt can turn an ordinary afternoon into something they’ll remember.

Sometimes the best adventures are the easiest ones. 💚

A little look back at our summer. ✨

We spent so much of it outside, creating, exploring, reading, learning, and finding new ways to spend time together.

There were big adventures, and some really simple days. Somehow both became some of our favourite memories.

More than anything, this summer was a reminder to slow down, stay curious, and enjoy the season through their eyes. 🌿📚

Feeling very grateful for all the moments we got to share. 🩵

Reading in the last hour of the day. 📖

The bedtime read isn’t really about the book.

It’s the same words in the same order at the same time, which tells a small nervous system the day is closing. ❤️

The story is just the container.

Pick something short. You’re not aiming for enthralled. You’re aiming for settled. 🛌 by @daya_discovers

Our illustrator, Marco, shared a little glimpse into where he finds inspiration. 📚✨

From bookshops in Berlin to children’s books from around the world, exploring different illustration styles is a reminder that there’s never just one way to tell a story.

That curiosity and love of diverse storytelling is such an important part of the work he brings to Touching Tales. by @daya_discovers
