The challenge I once accepted is now complete. The life I yearn for you both to have is just moments away.

I’ve been a mom since I was young… and today, the weight of that caught me off guard—not in a sad way, just in a whew, that’s a lot of years to carry something so heavy and love it so deeply kind of way.

I raised babies while I was still becoming myself.
I made decisions before I even had the language for sacrifice.

I’ve mothered through every version of me—broke, growing, healing, and rebuilding.

And now, I’m just in awe of the girl who became a mother before she even became a woman.

To my firstborn:
Mommy is sorry for creating you before my life was fully put together. But I can’t help but thank you for helping shape me into the woman I am today. Thank you for showing me what unconditional love feels like. Thank you for pushing me beyond my limits. Thank you for giving me purpose.

Although I may not have always liked being away from you on this ride, it made me stronger—and showed me how important the little things are. You are a beacon of light, a source of endless inspiration, and a constant reminder of the magic of motherhood. You taught me the importance of raising the bar and striving to be the best, knowing you’ll always be there, looking up at me. You are my first, my everything, and I am forever grateful for the privilege of being your mother.

To my son:
In the short time you’ve been here, you’ve changed my world completely. You’ve given me a love like no other. Your pure, innocent soul reminds me of the good things in life.

My wish for you, my son, is that you always remember the magic of childhood. Remember believing in superheroes—and that mommy’s kisses can fix everything. I hope no one ever tells you to “man up” or misleads you into thinking “boys don’t cry.” Always express your emotions; they are nothing to be ashamed of. I will always be your shoulder to cry on and your sounding board in times of distress.

Don’t let the world define who you are—only you can do that. And I promise you this: Mommy will do everything in me to raise you up like the king that you are.

Two fabulous years of intense dedication, and mental and physical perseverance. In 2021 I auditioned as a freshman and claimed my spot as a Tiger Sensation & every year from that moment has been one for the books. I will forever be infatuated with the culture of HBCU Dance, and as challenging as many days were, I enjoyed every moment and wouldn’t trade my experience for the world✨

To my rookie sisters, the fab 6, thank you for teaching me about sisterhood and playing a pivotal role in my college experience. The memories and moments we made will be cherished for a lifetime👯‍♀️

Thank you coach Gee for taking a chance on me, I will forever be grateful for this opportunity ❤️
