This beloved little feller’s name is Stitch Allen, named after the fact that he looked like a stitch and grandpa‘s middle name is Allen. He passed away at just over 18 years old! Wherever he was, in town or at the cabin, he loved to chase squirrels, so we all know what’s going on up in puppy heaven. by @daydreamsbydb

This finished watercolor portrait features a 1967 Candy Apple Red Ford Mustang, owned by my good friend, Mark Koon. ❤️🏁

I had the pleasure of presenting the painting to Mark at PD Pappy’s in Stillwater, Minnesota, and I wanted this portrait to capture more than just the car—I wanted to capture a little of the coolness that comes with Mark and his family. Let’s just say… there’s a lot of street cred here!

I love creating watercolor portraits of the things people are passionate about—classic cars, motorcycles, homes, cabins, pets and the places that hold special memories.

Have something you’d love to see painted? I’d be happy to create a one-of-a-kind watercolor portrait from your photos.

Twelve years ago today, I lost my mother. Remembering her on this date and missing her more than ever.

She loved all of us with a love that was unconditional and unwavering. There are days when I wish I could sit beside her, hear her voice and talk to her about life. Today is one of those days.

I miss you, Mom. ❤️ by @daydreamsbydb

This watercolor painting is my most recent lake home portrait. It captures the beauty of a perfect Minnesota summer day and reflects a place filled with cherished memories, with many more yet to be made. I had the pleasure of recreating this special view as a surprise gift between close knit friends whose connection to this home makes it especially meaningful. daydreamsbydb.com by @daydreamsbydb

"Lakeside Retreat"

This watercolor painting came together through an assortment of photos that were taken through the years.

The cabin is the star of this show, illuminated by the soft sunlight filtering through the forest's canopy. The wildflowers and the water's shoreline add to the tranquility of lake life.

But more interesting yet was the inclusion of details - the owl watching silently from the shelter of a tree, the adorable dog anchoring the scene and the elderly neighbor who visited regularly to sit on the swing.

Each of these small details became part of the rhythm of this place and I'm happy to have had the opportunity to create something that will be forever remembered.
