What a day! Interstate block party! An amazing time with @guiapdx and @glamlabpdx, and many others! This is what we need in the community!

Shout out to @guiapdx and @rosecityjam, two orgs that throw down down, events for the community!

Day One - We put together a Street Spelling Bee for the kids! 🐝 This went very well and is the start of a whole movement which is a part of our… literacy first initiative.

Work, then play!

Summer Raffle 3 and more info about our Free Summer Literacy Stem Camp and Tutoring!

Last weekend we were at Portlands Good in Hood event and partnered by providing a youth hands on stem station, and video game station for the teens. Both incorporated writing exercises before you played!

Over the weekend, we had the honor of partnering with Good in the Hood in Portland!

This year, we brought activities to both the youth area and the newly formed teen area. All of our activities showcased our new Write and Play programs, where youth and families completed a quick literacy exercise before moving into play and build time.

That means literacy before slime time and Mario Kart time!

Literacy first. Then we play!

Kids also received a raffle ticket for participating. Here is the raffle from this weekend! We will be doing another one in a couple of days.

We are also connecting with families about our free Literacy and STEM summer camps coming up in August, along with opportunities to join our tutoring program.

Stay tuned, and connect with us if you are interested!

We are also looking for volunteers, educators, and organizations to partner with us on this project.

Oh! This raffle is in our STYLE studio in our makerspace. We are looking for young braiders and barbers who are new and also those who are experienced to connect with us for the next season!
