Wow, found this gem in the back of a drawer, from early 2020 when I decided watercolor was gonna be my pandemic hobby. In light of recent toilet paper and firey events, this feels timely and relevant. by @dayscatnatomy

It’s been a while since I’ve done any painting, but I had my first ever sleep away camp experience at Woodward, and in between roller skating sessions and fire side chats and hair braiding and climbing around a barn and writing letters home, I did some arts and crafts, and painted this salamander dude on inlines. It was painted for, and inspired by my friend @scotthurley87 who has skated in a salamander costume to bring awareness to their plight in spring. As soon as I drew this guy’s face I was reminded of how much joy I have in my silly little drawings. I should do more of this!! by @dayscatnatomy

Stupidly forgot to take photos of this, but I did take some video. Painted this for the awesome @allie_or_dee who has been teaching me to park skate, and more profoundly, come out of my shell and bust through fear. It was the least of all gifts I could give her to paint one of her bunnies on a board. by @dayscatnatomy

Posting this test print of one of my earliest linocuts because today is Declaw Awareness Day! I can’t believe I tucked this away and never did more with it (like, make a nicer print!) especially given I could have sold prints to fund nail trimming services at my local shelter. I’ll have to bump that up as a priority.

Declawing cats is cruel and unnecessary. Declawing is an amputation of the toes at the first knuckle, can cause lifelong pain and discomfort, and takes away from a cat’s natural behavior. Cats need their claws! Nail trimming and access to scratchers can prevent damage to your furniture while allowing your cat to maintain their defense against predators.

Cat declawing is illegal in many countries, sadly the US is lagging behind and has only outlawed this cruelty in some major cities. You as a cat caregiver can make the decision to not declawing your cat. Please learn more about declawing and training your cats before you make a decision you can’t undo. by @dayscatnatomy

Linus and Lucie, siblings whose personalities are similar to their famed Van Pelt counterparts!

Snainy* day in the studio, trying to get work done with these two beasts all up in my business. I need a bigger desk, or better behaved cats! (Ok maybe I like them coming up to say hi.) *snow + rain for those folks not living in the cold northeast by @dayscatnatomy

This was a cute one and I love how Violet’s colors go with her cat daddy’s favorite lounge pants. But please, my eyeballs need to recover from painting that plaid. I’m proud of myself for only missing one stripe in that pattern. I won’t say where 😵‍💫🤪
As always, Moose and Marisol gave their input and butt blessings. It’s not a real work of art without nose kisses and butt blessings. by @dayscatnatomy

I was hoping my thaumatrope would work a bit better but I see now how these work better with simple images. There’s too many details in the painting and in the anatomy sketch that it doesn’t all blend together. Oh well, it was fun to try! I’ll have to think of some other fun way to combine my Catnatomy drawings. by @dayscatnatomy

Horton is the Boss (or at least he thinks he is) so you better listen to what he has to say. You might come across a dark shadow against the bright sun, to realise it is Horton, Void Catting in the light. 🖤🖤🖤
