Something really cool happened today! I went to grab my pulls from last week, and in them was this Ashcan Preview special edition of @imagecomics new series If Destruction Be Our Lot. I really enjoyed issue 1 and was confused by why I got it again. It looks like for subscribing early, Ashcan and Image sent signed special editions of the preview to fans, along with some cool little collectible stickers and a fake bill. I am super excited to keep this reading this series and just think it is so cool that they sent me this! Be sure to always support new comics series, and definitely check out issue 1 of this incredible series! NEW COMICBOOK DAY 7/22! Some great new releases from @dccomics this week including more of Swamp Thing ‘89, Absolute Wonder Woman, and Absolute Superman! Also from @imagecomics and @skyboundent comes Terminal by Robert Kirkman! I picked up the regular cover as well as 3 blind bags! I will have a video opening the blind bags here soon! One of comics most fun new stories of the year has been none other than the @imagecomics series D’Orc. Written and drawn by @brett2dbean this story follows the half dwarf, half orc on his adventures throughout the fictional Scar. These are the covers I managed to get for the first 6 issues. I really love this series it has been such a blast with heartfelt moments, heavy action, and well timed laughs. NEW COMICBOOK DAY 7-15! Some great new releases this week from @dccomics including new Absolute Green Arrow, as well as new Nightwing and Deathstroke. We also have the special edition issue 0 Dungeon Crawler Carl which pays homage to Absolute Batman 1. From @imagecomics we have new Battle Beast, D’Orc, and If Destruction Be Our Lot! NEW COMICBOOK DAY 7/8! This week had some great new releases. I had to pick up the black and white reprint of @danielwarrenart @spicercolor Do a Powerbomb, which is one of my all time favorites. For Marvel, we have the new Daredevil from @snapcracklesteph and @leegarbett as well as a facsimile edition reprint of Spider-Man 129 — the first appearance of the Punisher! For DC, we have new additions to the ongoing Absolute universe with a new Batman and Catwoman from @ssnyder1835 and @chehaunts! We also have the continuing Next Level series Barbara Gordon: Breakout from @marikotamaki and The Fury of Firestorm from @jefflemire. Overall, it was a great new week for comics and I cannot wait to get reading! Batman trades collection part2! I have a previous post going through the first part of books in my Batman collection that span the early years until about 1990. These books ranging from 1992-2004 include some very pivotal stories for the Dark Knight. The Knightfall Saga introduces Bane, the Loeb / Sale stories reinvent Batman’s early days, and the others provide more depth into the Caped Crusader and the villains of his universe. I have been really trying to curate my collection for Batman to have all the essentials, and I am excited to get into the next few parts of my collection here soon. Today, I wanted to highlight some awesome books in my collection — the Transformers! @imagecomics and #RobertKirkman‘s Energon Universe has been an absolute blast. The first 4 volumes by @danielwarrenart and @spicercolor are some of the best books by Image in recent years! With Kirkman taking over with @dan_mora_c for Volume 5 onward, the series is in great hands! I have really enjoyed this series, and love riveting storytelling and artwork depicting the eternal conflict between the autobots and decepticons. NEW COMICBOOK DAY 6/17! Some great new drops this week that I cannot wait to read. From DC’s Absolute Universe, we have Absolute Batman 21 and Absolute Green Arrow 2! From the mainline DC continuity, we have new chapters for Nightwing and Deathstroke — 2 really incredible series. New Comicbook Day 6/10! Last week I only had 2 books (Batman & Deadman) so didn’t see the need for a haul post. Am trying to be more consistent with these! This week we have some great stuff! @snapcracklesteph is back with more Daredevil, and I for one can’t wait to keep reading! We also have @brett2dbean returning with the final issue of the first arc of D’Orc. D’Orc has been one of the most fun series I have read in a long time and I hope this series runs for a very longtime! With DC we also have @chehaunts and @ssnyder1835’s newest entry into the Absolute Universe with Absolute Catwoman 1. We also have some great new issues for DC Next Level titles with more Barbara Gordon: Breakout by @marikotamaki and Firestorm by @jefflemire! Batman trades collection part1! Batman has long been my favorite DC superhero and he has so many cool stories over the years.
