Our “Nor Easter” continues with stormy skies, wind and rain. Figured this was a good one to do after work today. I used @dianetownsend stormy blues pastel set and @sennelier pastels on @uartsandedpaper 400 grit. by @dayslpr25

I took this picture yesterday at Chase Farm. There wasn’t allot of color quite yet so I took a little artistic liberty and added a little splash of Fall. Rainy and windy Nor’Easter here today so perfect for lighting some candles and playing with pastels! by @dayslpr25

Took another look at this in the morning and took out my @rembrandtartistpaint pastels to add more details and to tweak the foreground and grasses. Now it’s done! A very rare stormy Saturday off. Happy Saturday! by @dayslpr25

Well, it’s still on the easel. So many times I said to myself “just 5 more minutes” yet I couldn’t stop. I’ll give it a look tomorrow morning with fresh eyes and hopefully I’ll be happy with it. This is my own reference photo from quite a few years ago. Chase Farm is where I take my dogs to run. I’ve been going there since 2007. I went today with Casey and Scarlett but not allot of color yet. by @dayslpr25

Temporarily stepped away from the pumpkins and tried to somewhat recreate a painting of poppies I did back in July. I used Canson blue paper I found at Hobby Lobby in large sheets for .74 cents. I also used @sennelier1887 and @rembrandtartistpaint pastels. by @dayslpr25

I knew once I did one pumpkin, I’d be addicted. Reference pic on the last slide. This was really fun to do. I used my @rembrandtartistpaint and also my @sennelier1887 pastels. I used a Canson paper I found I large sheets on sale at Hobby Lobby for .74 cents. I purchased several colors and figured they’d be great for some practice painting. by @dayslpr25

Pumpkins! I was so anxious to try pumpkins in pastels! Every time I sat at the easel to paint pumpkins I ended up painting something else. So I finally did some pumpkins. Unfortunately I painted them on a very odd size of paper so they mat and frame cut off that first pumpkin. The last frame is my watercolor pumpkins which is one of the first things I painted with watercolor. I have a Fall pillow I used as an inspiration pic. by @dayslpr25

Currently on my easel. Is it finished you ask? I can’t decide. Therefore I sit and stare at it. I walk away for a while and do other things, then come back. Can’t make up my mind on this one so on the easel it will live for now. Inspiration photo from my walk this morning with my girls Casey and Scarlett. I used @sennelier1887 from the landscape set which I’ve so abused, and that introductory set which I’m also loving. by @dayslpr25

I started this painting this morning with an underpainting with alcohol before my shift this morning. Later after getting home I worked on it. I’ve painted this one before but smaller and was curious if I’d like it bigger. The small one is the 9th slide in the gold frame. Once I did my little tape pull I noticed my border got messy from the alcohol. Well we can’t have messy borders! So, my OCD self got out some pan pastels and went in for the fix. Now I can sleep tonight LOL! Plus I decided I like the small one better! by @dayslpr25

We finally got back to the farm after a very hot Summer. Casey and Scarlett were so excited to go, however it seems they both conveniently forgot how to recall. Class will be back in session for sure. After napping Casey woke up with a TERRIBLE limp. I immediately called my vet of over like 25 years only to be told they couldn’t see her till next week. Knowing she needed to be seen I took a chance and called a vet we’ve never been to. The staff checked with the vet who was supposed to leave early, however she agreed to see Casey! They drew blood effortlessly, started her on meds for Lyme, also sent out blood work to rule other things out and they collected a urine sample like I’ve never seen! Huge shout out to @slatersvillevetclinic for seeing my girl and taking such good care of her. I’m so grateful. I couldn’t watch her suffer all weekend waiting for an appointment. Thank you to the wonderful staff and Dr! by @dayslpr25

You know how it’s said you don’t have to paint everything in your inspiration photo? That’s what happened here. I liked the ocean scene but was also so inspired by @andrea.gianchiglia.art and how she created “ocean sprinkles “ I had to take the opportunity to try her method. I tried so hard not to “over sprinkle” but the struggle was real!! Super fun to do. by @dayslpr25
