No matter how much we describe what we see, what is seen will never fit into words. Likewise, even if our ideas and emotions that find expression in words are rendered "visual" through metaphor and simile, it is language, not the eye, where they meet meaning...
As soon as the artist's eyes place the viewer in the field of vision, they grasp him, force him to enter the painting, give him a privileged and obligatory place, destroy his luminous and visible side and project it onto the inaccessible surface of the opaque canvas. The viewer sees his invisibility, rendered visible for the painter and transferred to the surface as an absolutely invisible image for him. A bewilderment that is compounded by a marginal trap and becomes all the more inescapable...
The messenger wants you to watch, feel, see and understand the artist, not the art directly. Like a sip of wine, a bite of fruit.
Because what happened in the past must not happen again. Especially artists and veterans should not be overshadowed like the sensual, reassuring paintings of kings and queens, the images of their love.
