MidWeekMeetZ Season Opener
Cars, Trucks, and Bikes Meet
Saturday, May 23 — Watch City

Here’s to another #midweekmeetz event displaying gorgeous interiors, engines, and designs, and presenting personalities from the car community. This year, I traveled to the event solo but met with @ipromiseimnotkevin to feed off each other’s ideas and generate some interesting stills. Kev had fun with his old school video camera. Meanwhile, I played around with two lenses: the classic Nifty Fifty and a wide-angle lens. My camera peeps will see the difference!

As always, I tried to find challenges where I could. This time, I targeted detail, detail, and more detail. Some collages contained cropped shots, but the extended zoom doesn’t deconstruct the original intention or dynamic. You shall bask in the glory of the little things most of us don’t wonder enough about.

Now, my favorite part about this ordeal was seeing Chucky hang out of two different cars. The guy was freakin’ haunting me, and honestly, he brought some spice to the equation. I mean, it wasn’t close to Halloween yet. But, I can’t judge.

On a more serious note, it’s an honor to see different faces, and familiar ones, explore the atmosphere and find cheer in each second. I cherish these freezes in time and hope you find something to appreciate.

In my community, money:

Breaks families up more
Forms cancer in relationships
Disturbs mental clarity
Sparks the biggest anxieties
Makes drug users and alcohol abusers restless
Raises violent deaths and crimes
Dictates everyone’s resources
Leaves individuals panicked
Turns people’s heels
Forces the biggest risks
Threatens daily living
Generates more hopelessness

Yet, money is beautiful once you know how to capitalize on it. Does that sound sick or fair in any regard?

If I didn’t learn much or couldn’t grasp anything from this experience, I will, without a doubt, say that these young faces represent empowerment, courage, and what workers need. Brothers and sisters, even in small numbers, we MUST speak and discuss.

For me, this event was out of the norm, but I found the experience entertaining. As I watched people engage and get together, I felt peaceful.

Franswa, the passionate dance instructor in the blue hoodie, was kind enough to invite me and let me take photos of the class. A practice session often sounds like an opportunity to me. I couldn’t say no.

Hidden gems like this bring another layer to Lowell. Not only do people enjoy themselves, but they are also living in the moment. Regardless of age, background, or color, people spread laughs and smiles. That’s what community stands for.

Side note: I must dig into action shots further since movement and precision are niches I haven’t mastered yet.

For my first car meet of the year, I traveled to @bentleycarclub’s annual car show in Waltham, MA. Heading into this event, my idea was to meet different people, connect with talent, and focus more on the community.

Entering the area, there was a line of cars waiting to get in. I was a bit overwhelmed and panicked at first because I worried about parking, but everything worked out. I met some helpful people! Meanwhile, the beautiful weather complemented the campus’s gorgeous and massive scenery.

I was shocked by the number of cars ready and available to capture. If I had the chance to stay there and take photos of all the cars, I would have, but time always flies too fast.

More importantly, I had a great time chatting with young photographers and learning about their material and experience. These kinds of conversations are my greatest resources for ideas and future projects!

In the process, I greeted some adorable dogs and spotted some sick vintage cars and modded vehicles. Even the little bits of nature mixed in with the campus’s modern aesthetic caught my eye.

In all, my friends, indulge!
