I have started sorting our safari trip photos, and the total number came in at a staggering 4800 photos (not including video or those shot on iphone). And since no one asked for it, I will be uploading 1 post for each of my favorite animals and photos, spamming your sh!t over the next few weeks with safari greatness. We start with the crowd favorite Lion. Lions are the most social of the big cats, living in family groups called prides. A pride usually includes related lionesses, their cubs, and one or more males; the lionesses often work together to hunt and raise young, while males help defend the group’s territory. For almost 9 years we have lived this wonderful nomadic life. Living in and out Airbnb’s, hotels (Marriott ambassador elite status) corporate housing, crashing with friends and even living in our Airstream. The journey has been a fulfilling, awe inspiring experience, offering connections with people all around this beautiful country and even around the world. It’s the experience I always dreamed of as a kid and to do it with the person I love makes this all seem surreal. This week we are laying roots on a charming property in Massachusetts in a home built in 1760. This week we finally moved in. During the short week we had to unpack we experienced a prelude to the gatherings, love and friendship we know will continue for the rest of our lives. So many of you visited, helped move furniture and unpack boxes. We ate a lot of pizza, had a birthday celebration for my mom, celebrated our first easter and egg toss, we drank, smoked cigars and laughed. This home isn’t just ours; it’s for all of you who have been with us throughout all the travels, checking in on us, letting us sleep on your guest bed, my family who supported this unique life we chose and always had room for our endless totes for storage. Our home is your home! We mean that. We want to share this all with you just as you have shared so much with us. Cheers to the next chapter of our story. Much love #lakelife by @dayvudp

I turned 30 right before the pandemic, and I’m still wrapping my head around the lost time. So many moments feel like they were just yesterday while simultaneously feeling like a lifetime ago. Yesterday, I turned 36. The 30 year old in me would like to think that in 6 years I’ll have it all sorted. Life is starting to make a little more sense right? But alas my naive 30 year old self!….this puzzle that is life, has not been solved. Nor do I think it ever will be. But every day I like to try and figure out a little more because the mystery is what makes this all worth living. Spain 🇪🇸. We experienced a delightful blend of architectural marvels through Barcelona and neighboring cities. 10 days ago Dave picked me up at the airport after a work trip. When we got home he said, “something happened a couple of hours ago,” and then opened the bedroom door to show me a very scared (and very smelly) little puppy he had found in the street. We took her to the vet to see if she was chipped (she was!) and then waited patiently for her owners to reach out to claim her. Spoiler alert: they never called. So now, after a mandatory waiting period and her first round of shots, she’s officially ours! We’re working on peeing outside and teaching her that charging cables are not chew toys. She’s learning about the beauty of sticks from Indy, and that (most) people are nice, though she’s still a super shy girl when she meets someone new. Meet Roo, we’re all obsessed with her and her sweet little loving soul. by @dayvudp

It’s not easy getting this woman on a plane to fly across the country, but it happened! This is the year of getting out of our comfort zones and my mom is leading the charge!
