“ When you feel lost at sea, trust that the tides are leading you somewhere new. A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor. “ ⚓️

This journey was more than a degree, it was a testimony of every obstacle I had to face to achieve something greater. Something for myself, and for those after me. Being a first-generation, low-income Latina raised by a single mother, those are just a few titles. But deeper than that, it’s what God called me to be, and I never imagined how powerful His plan would be.
If you asked the younger me:
Elementary me wanted happiness and a childhood.
Middle school me: to survive.
High school me: stability.
Today? I’d say, it was all worth it

From a young age education became my sanctuary. While escaping financial instability, domestic violence, and an absent parent, school became my safe place. College always felt out of reach. But in one of my darkest moments, and almost dropping out of high school, God reminded me there was light ahead. Getting into UD felt surreal. I battled imposter syndrome, worked MULTIPLE jobs to fund my own education, and stayed strong as the oldest daughter, for my family during legal troubles. But God is good, ALL the time.

♥ Blessings followed;
Studied abroad, Completed 5 internships in 4 different states, 5x Dean’s list, and Earned multiple scholarships that allowed me to graduate debt-FREE

More than anything, I found my people. The friendships that kept me going, the ones who rooted for me even when I doubted myself. My crew.
And then I found my Xi Chapter ♥️ My home away from home, where I found confidence, sisterhood, and belonging.
None of this would’ve been possible without the love of my family, especially mi mamá, who left everything behind and raised two kids in a country she didn’t know, in a language she hadn’t yet learned. I still remember her standing by that steel gate asking strangers to help me with my homework so I wouldn’t fall behind. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.

I’m endlessly grateful. And while the journey isn’t over, I trust in His plan ✨
