A few photos from Grandpa's memorial. I got off the train and my sister says "I knew it was you cuz you look just like mom" but its true out of all my sisters I'm her clone.
First photo is my oldest sister Casey, then Shelby who is younger than me, my beautiful mama Kim and me. My little sister and I did not always get along, but as we have gotten older we are getting closer. She says she understood me more after she had my neice Lorena, who is my mini!!!!
Shelby's dad Larry Ground is the one who blessed me with my name and claimed me at Fire in the Mountains.
Lots of people turned our for Grandpa Eddie Laplante's memorial. I met family, heard stories, met Canadian cousins, got to see cousins and family I hadn't seen since Grandma's wake. It was nice coming home and really helped me on my journey to reconnecting. by @dayzee.lou

While I wait for the house to awaken.. i shall drink my coffee and read my book.
My beloved suprised me yesterday. He got off work, did all of my weekend chores, so I could just not. We went to all my favorite places to start my Halloween decor and today we will hit the dollar stores and discount places for my craft projects!!
Its the little things that mean the most to me.

I didn't take many photos so most of these are @qui_shit or someone else's.
Firstly I want to thank all the volunteers, you guys killed it and we couldn't have done it without you. We had a good amount this year and even had a plethora of ticket holder volunteers. You guys came ready to handle business and tackled whatever got thrown at you.
Qui I am ever grateful we got paired together on this adventure, we fucking killed every little thing we got thrown including our booth almost being destroyed. I miss you already.. Dayzee Dayzee for Jaqui 😘
Shout out to the feral boys(see truck photo) your vibe was different every damn time you drove by and you kept us laughing the whole time.
Dash you wonderful human wherever you are thank you for being our rock.
I met so many amazing people while working at the volunteer/info/security/medic tent. I heard stories of hope, healing, grief. I hugged people as they cried. I laughed with strangers, met family, made new friends. This was the most amazing event I have ever been privileged to work.
My son came out to work the fest for a day with me, which was the most amazing gift ever.
I got to see @amigothedevil 2x, one with my son!!! I got to see 16HP, hear @el__welk and watched @neurosisoakland
Most of my time through was filled with work and chatting and spreading whimsy.
So thank you Jeremy, Ollie and TJ for inviting me on this adventure.
Thank you @fireinthemountains @firekeeperalliance and The Blackfeet Nation for putting together a life changing event for everyone who attended.

I received my name this weekend, Naamóísisttsiaakíí (Hummingbird Woman) and I was going to write this big long thing and eventually once I have processed, grieved and settled I will.

I want to thank @the_bonecrusher @fathercarnage And @saltysully15 for hiring me for a job I didn't apply for 🤣 I will forever be grateful to be a member of @fireinthemountains crew.

Day of the ceremony my sister said her dad (Larry) wants me there for the Headdress transfer, one of the workshops. I had already planned to be there, so that was easy. I smudge, I sit with family (after some prodding from @juniper.bug ) and as I think the ceremony is about to end. Larry calls me up. If you were there you knew it was unexpected.

From this point on things are blurry. The moment his hand went on my head and he started talking about my sister, I knew something was up. He announces that he is giving me my name. He says that I am strong and meek and names Naamóísisttsiaakíí. He doesn't end there, he then claimed me, naming me daughter. He gifted me a necklace, that now only comes off to shower.

My world shifted. I was connected to a place I love and longed for my whole life. I was surrounded by my family, my festival family and by strangers who in that moment became family. Who shared this with me.

I came home to myself this weekend, at the most wonderful spiritual heavy music festival and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Shout out the @ratking_designs for telling me not to let my dragonfly wings get caught in the ripples, so I could emerge. by @dayzee.lou

@qui_shit and I festivities day 1, mid festival, on the way home.
I will be posting about the amazing time I had working @fireinthemountains and the emotional roller-coaster that came with it. But for now.. i go to sleep.
Returning to the outside world has been surreal. by @dayzee.lou

And in true dayzee fashion we upheaval our life all at once 🤣 we signed a lease on a new house a few months ago and get to move in end of the month. I got a job offer I couldn't refuse and I am officially headed back into the music scene working a festival which makes my heart sing. But then we mellow out in August. Right?!?! by @dayzee.lou

I've read 18 books this year so far. I've made a commitment to myself to read atleast once a day. Often I find myself reading more than that. I am reading mostly for pleasure, but also enjoying things like The Creative Act: A Way of Being during the day or I Wanna Be Well by Miggy Chen.
Current reads are:
The Other Bennet Sister by Janice Hadlow
The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones
And my third or fourth read through of
HOUSE OF LEAVES by Mark Z Danielewski
