H guys. Here is a low budget reel of the @hexfigures model made by @dblueice
I think it might be slightly underexposed and too saturated. Nonetheless I think it shows more context and brushstrokes and what it looks like in hand

Hello guys! I’m finally posting this box art I did for @hexfigures made by @dblueice

This was a really enjoyable model to work on. All the surfaces are very well optimized for painting.

For this project, my main goal was to create a sense of luminosity/translucency in the skin. I also worked almost exclusively with fluorescent paints, so that the colors could retain their intensity even under the bad lighting on vendors’ tables. I hope it did its job over the weekend!

As for the color palette, I tried to keep it as simple as possible, using essentially only three colors to create stronger contrast against the skin.

I’m really happy with the final result, and I hope you like it too!

The sculpture was inspired by a 1950s nurse, and I thought it would be interesting to incorporate the color scheme of the Nurse Joys from Pokémon into the painting—as if this character were a Pokémon Center nurse from an alternate timeline set in the 1950s.

A escultura foi inspirada em uma enfermeira dos anos 50, e achei que seria interessante trazer para a pintura o esquema de cores das Enfermeiras Joy, de Pokémon — como se essa personagem fosse uma enfermeira de um Centro Pokémon em uma linha do tempo alternativa ambientada nos anos 50.

Just painted up this great academic bust from @dblueice ‘Kanvas II’ line.

Really enjoying painting some of these quick projects lately - this one took maybe 6-7 hours or so all together between yesterday and today, perfect model for finishing something small in a couple of painting sessions.

Love some tmm for the metallics too - and I think she turned out a tiny bit crosseyed, will have to paint up another one some time and get the eyes right 👀

Trying @lead_wh1te 's Jorn palette of Pthalo Blue, Red Oxide and white. I used a tube of cheap craftshop blue, Kimeria Red Oxide and Primacryl white. Sculpt by dblueice.

[ad] My take on "Captain" by Daniel Fernandez Truchaud. I painted the bust as a loose study of J. C. Leyendecker's original artwork.

@dblueice was kind enough to gift me the STL for this one. The MyMinifyctory Campaign "Kanvas II, Academic Study Bust" is running until June 29.

Together with Daniel Fernández Truchaud, we have created a charity campaign to support childhood cancer research at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona.

Daniel sculpted this nurse, and I painted it by hand. Now, this painted piece will be drawn among everyone who supports the campaign.

I just made a free video on how to paint busts, aimed at beginners. If you have always wanted to try painting busts but maybe thought it was a little intimidating, I hope this video helps!
