A car accident on NYE (no one was hurt!) turned into an unexpected month long vacation in Idaho and Seattle. Thankful for the extra time spent with my people and memories made 🫶 by @dbohm17

Fishing was a huge part of my life growing up. From backpacking and camping trips, to drives up the canyon and scoping out neighborhood streams, these were some of my fondest memories with Dad. After moving to Idaho, starting college, and only making trips home for the holidays, years went by before I was able to go on another fishing trip with him. In 2016, he took my brother and I on a 4 day fishing trip to Canada which was something he had always wanted to do with his sons. Today we were able to go to our favorite spot in Wyoming and boy did it pay off. In a period of 2 hours I caught 10 fish, Dad 6, as well as losing another 4-5 in between. We may have almost lost our fingers and noses to frostbite, but I am so grateful for all of the nostalgia and feeling like a kid again today 🎣🎣 taken in Viva Naughton by @dbohm17

This weekend taught me a few things:

1) Bagels are the answer, always
2) Nothing beats spending time with your people
3) As much as my heart belongs to Chicago, the Manhattan skyline is unrivaled 🏙️
4) People watching can in fact, be a hobby

4,400 miles, countless laughs, and memories to last a lifetime; 10 days flew by! Had so much fun in Moab playing tour guide and exploring Denver. 10/10 recommend a spontaneous road trip! by @dbohm17

These two years were filled with laughs, tears, and a few mental breakdowns but I wouldn’t have changed it for a thing. PA school was the most challenging thing I’ve ever done and I will be forever thankful for all of the love and support that carried me through and made me into the man I am today. 18 year old Derek would be so proud of how far we’ve come 🩺🩵 by @dbohm17

1/2 the way to being a PA 🥼🩺! So proud of each and every one of us for all of the hard work and long hours we’ve put in this year…and so so glad didactic year is almost over - 3 weeks and 7 exams to go 😂 wouldn’t be here without all of the love and support I’ve had along the way!

Feeling rested and recharged after a *MUCH* needed winter break. Thank you Azita/Michael for housing me and for a wonderful first trip to Nashville! Thank you to new friends and old who made me feel so loved and appreciated these last two weekends after another trip around the sun 🎂🤍

👋🏽👋🏽 Fall quarter! I finished classes strong and had a wonderful week off spending time with some of the people I love most. Here are just a handful of highlights over the last three months.

This program continues to challenge me like nothing ever has, while also teaching me so much about myself and helping me to become the best provider to my future patients. I like to think that the constant challenge and stepping out of the “comfort zone” leads to the best opportunities for growth.

I can’t express enough gratitude to friends/family/classmates to help celebrate the highs, as well as the constant love and support through the lows. Can’t believe didactic year is already halfway done! Now please send help to get me through the Chicago winter, 26 credits, and getting to/leaving classes in darkness 🥲😂🤪 taken in Chicago, Illinois by @dbohm17
