The flower is always in the almond

So this is a big one! It’s been a long time coming but this exhibition is ready and we are delighted to share some of the process and invite you all to the opening this Thursday @nisogallery

I started working on this show way over a year ago. Most of it stems from the countless reads of Bachelard’s Poetics of space and the unwavering support of @nicolas_sorbac . When I told him I wanted to create a show without singular works but with intimate spaces for people’s reveries, without hesitation he gave me the gallery and the freedom to experiment. The works don’t share medium or technique, they don’t obey style or image but only primal feeling and the poetry of potential.
It’s a pleasure for me to share this with you. Captured by the incredibly talented @martharosebailey and paired with the exquisite earthy notes of @nyksan_ this short film shows the process behind some of the sculptures created at the idilic @imresidencies with the support and energy of @itomarzotto

Im also constantly grateful with @henry.j.h.hoffman for providing a very needed right hand and the assistance of @mesa.natalia and @nadia.zim.

Last but not least to @christiandominguez1965 for taking on the challenge head on and delivering a fantastic curation.

NOW OPEN

𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, curated by Christian Domínguez Dietzel, is now open and on view at the gallery.

I met Peter 5 years ago walking in the park. After knowing him for a few weeks he told me he used to be part of, wrote the lyrics and did the sound engineering for CAN. I have piles of can records, maybe every single, live performance and weird limited copies I could get my hands on. Over stories about the band, music and art, countless dinners and conversations it grew int a very nice friendship. He’s never missed an exhibition of mine and in one of these he mentioned he was writing a book of stories of the band, in which I weirdly make an appearance. He then asked me if he could use one of my paintings for the cover. Stupid question. What an honour to be part of the history of one of the greatest bands that ever was and to have Peter as a friend.

Book launches this Monday. There will be a q&a with Peter and a listening session with CAN heads. Stories about Brian Eno, John Martyn, Rebop, Bowie and all the other bits that come with such an event.

A few months ago, in a Suffolk forest. Whilst carving the totems, in the middle of the hypnotic trance one is put in between the dust, the bang of the hammer and the vibrations I lifted my eyes to find myself surrounded by unexpected visitors. Every moment that followed was as surreal as it was unexpected and necessary.

NISO is thrilled to announce Daniel Brusatin’s second solo exhibition with the gallery, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘴 𝘈𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘥, curated by Christian Domínguez Dietzel.

Daniel Brusatin’s latest series explores themes embedded in the hidden potential and inherent growth in nature and humanity. Using natural materials, Brusatin crafts pieces reflecting the evolution of organic forms, like seeds holding promises of future blooms. The exhibition celebrates nature’s cycles, fragility, strength, and the quest for meaning, inviting viewers on an introspective journey where the primordial and eternal intertwine.

Daniel Brusatin’s ideology revolves around the fight to redefine mediums, pushing the boundaries of painting beyond the constraint of its frame. He approaches material not merely as a functional element, but as a dynamic participant in the works’ narrative, often selecting materials to provoke thought and elicit connection.
