my entire AP art portfolio, in the order i submitted it!

this year i explored how i can rework my artistic processes to over come anxiety and be more accurately expressive of my ideas. by working in abstraction, i focused on illustrating emotions rather than a concrete subject matter. this allowed for experimentation in my work like never before. i found that by stepping away from the rules that used to define the way i made art, my work became more personal and accurate to the feelings i wanted to express. by focusing on processes, i learned that art should be adaptable to the artist, and doesn’t depend on specific rules or formulas to be “good”.

each piece i created was made to express a certain memory or feeling. in the order i submitted them, my pieces are: 1. the way things go (7/23) 2. period (10/25) 3. fleshwater (11/25) 4. heart (12/25) 5. garden (12/25) 6. euphoria (1/26) 7. vines/veins (1/26) 8. valentines (2/26) 9. process 10. silver springs (3/26) 11. nostalgia (3/26) 12. process 13. i-pod touch (4/26) 14. process 15. lateralus (4/26).

i’m so proud of this portfolio and really happy with the outcome. i learned so much about myself as an artist and what it means to be creative. thank you to JLT and all my other art teachers for their involvement and support!
