Took the cobra to its first drift event! Car did a great job with no issues. Few setup changes to make going forward but very happy with its first time out. Gear change before the next event this Friday. Thank you to @murt_media for the great shots! @ignitionspeed @ignitionspeedgarage @lebanon_valley_drift_ @synergy_race_development @driftamerican @bcracingna @xcomp_tires by @dcarr45

Missed the week 3 update and didnt get to do 4 on time because of some busy weeks. BUT SHE IS DONE! We missed the first event i planned to bring it to due to a last minute pinched brake line the night before the event and nobody having the rubber line in stock. But since then I have finished up the mechanical aspects of the build. Alignment tomorrow and will use an autocross Saturday as a test run. Next on the list is dial in settings on the suspension and start working on cosmetics shortly. Id like to thank Jay @jaxonmotorsports44 @ignitionspeedgarage for the opportunity to make this build happen. Also @ignitionarmy @ignitionspeed @xcomp_tires @driftamerican @synergy_race_development @racequip @racerdirect @summitracing. I can't wait for the next event @lebanon_valley_drift_ to really test it out! by @dcarr45

Week 2 update on the drift cobra! Didnt get alot of time to make progress due to having some parts come in wrong or being delayed, but the replacement motor is in. Its about 90% hooked up. Will be done tomorrow. I redid some of the welds on the frame repair as I had run out of welding gas and they weren't the best quality. But the repairs are finished. I also final mounted the drivers seat and found where the hand brake will be mounted. Also got front and rear bash bars mounted. Installed new battery box in the trunk as well. Tomorrow the windshield will be replaced and ill be working on mounting the bc coilovers and synergy angle kit. Final deadline to be up and running and in the trailer will be Thursday night as we are scheduled for an alignment Friday morning and then 🤞 drifting Friday afternoon! Tight deadlines but let's see if I can make it happen. by @dcarr45

Week 1 of the drift cobra build update, I pulled the bad motor out and found the frame rails and base of the strut towers were rotted and in desperate need of repair. I was able to order a patch/repair kit from Scott rod fabrication. Next i pulled the valve covers off the bad engine and found that one of the cam timing chains had snapped and broke the teeth off the camshaft. These being interference motors, means that killed this engine. I made a few orders for the parts I need to repair/ replace/upgrade things on the car to make it drift ready. While waiting for parts I gutted the interior out and started mounting seats, harness bar, and 5 point harnesses. Passenger side is done and installed. Driver side will be final installed once I can get the new steering wheel and quick release mounted and set my driver sitting position. After driver seat is mounted ill build a mount for the hydro e and get that plumbed. Today I was able to repair the passenger side frame rail to about 90% done before I had to take off to pick up the replacement engine! Ill try to work on it a little longer tonight and get that side finished. This week ill tackle the driver side and then start prepping the engine to be installed. Suspension parts should be in tomorrow. Hopefully ill have some more great progress for next week's update! @ignitionspeed @heavensgatedriftcult @ignitionarmy @ignitionspeedgarage @xcomp_tires by @dcarr45
