Happy Birthday Dillon!! I love you more than any words could ever explain. You are the most loving, caring, selfless, creative, present, funny, smart, and beautiful person I have ever met!! The whole world is better with you in it, and my whole world has changed ever since you and I, became us!! I am so lucky to be half of us! I love you, Happy Birthday!! We have been to NYC two times in July and August, both to celebrate your birthday and our anniversary, when Nathan Lane and Lori Metcalf canceled our first attempt at DEATH OF A SALESMAN for our anniversary, I said let’s go back in a month for your birthday and see them, so we did, we also got to see TWO STRANGERS CARRY A CAKE ACROSS NEW YORK, and LOST BOYS!! We have now experienced 114 plays together, starting with one of yours, TVSHKA, two years ago in July!! I still remember we sat in the front row and you held my hand, we had only been dating for about a month, over two years later and we will go to our 115th play together today on your birthday, and our 116th play together tomorrow, and we are already planning our third trip to broadway!! This life we have built together, has me feeling like I won the lottery every damn day!! I love you Dillon Christopher Chitto!! Happy Birthday!! by @helloiamjeff

Breaking: a set of triplets wreak havoc on PDX and slay the house down at the first ever National Native Theatre Convening.

Thanks to the @nativeperformingartsnetwork for a wonderful weekend, and for including me in the planning committee. It was my pleasure to serve our vibrant community and to spend the weekend with so many lovely humans/theatre makers. (I didn’t take too many pictures because we prioritized spending time in space with humans, but this carousel is proof it happened.) Until next time!🫶🏼🪶

If you get a chance to go see & JULIET while it’s here in Chicago, you should - the story is super identity affirming and the whole production is serving joy and liberation. What else can anyone ask for? @broadwayinchicago #andjuliet taken in Auditorium Theatre by @helloiamjeff

OH, MARY! with Emmy nominated @megsstalter is hilarity exploding from the Prettiest Girl in America. The humor is as real as the story. The absurdity is the medicine you didn’t know you needed. Go get you some funny from Oh, Mary!! Just go!
#coleescola you are a genius but you knew that already! @dchitto and I were lucky enough to be in the front row on Meg’s 3rd show (then she went on vocal rest so we waited to post this) - Meg in @ohmaryplay is EVERYTHING!! Thank you world, and the world thanks you Meg! taken in Lyceum Theatre (New York City) by @helloiamjeff

We were celebrating our two year anniversary in New York City and loved every moment of the city and of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. Sexy, beautiful, and the opposite of heteronormative. What a gift to humanity. If you get a chance to see @roundaboutnyc Theatre’s production of Richard O’Brien’s THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, you better do it! taken in Roundabout Theater at Studio 54 by @helloiamjeff

CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL was a religious experience proving the gods are indeed gender nonconforming and melanated! It was like being at the last supper with god actually present! Every other show suddenly felt like a ritual where we merely talk about the divine. We had the best seats in the house with the Cats speaking directly to us, and it was EVERYTHING! What else can I say? Go see Cats: The Jellicle Ball on Broadway! See life being lived in the most magical, beautiful, joy- filled fabulous way. Experience OPULENCE. Over 100 plays with @dchitto and this one @catsjellicleball wins best of the ball and best of them all! taken in Broadhurst Theatre by @helloiamjeff

“Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it?—every, every minute?”
Happy anniversary to the love of my life @helloiamjeff! I am so grateful for the life we’ve created in our little corner of Chicago. Every moment with you is a gift I never take for granted. Can’t wait for more plays, more sushi, more years, more love. I love you by @helloiamjeff

We recently saw @raven_theatre ‘s production of #OCTET . Is it the best show I have ever seen? Just maybe. It certainly is now my favorite musical. This was @dchitto and I’s 100th play together and we can’t stop thinking and talking about it!
Let me say what I’m hoping and imaging other people are thinking, this production of Octet should head to Broadway. It’s that good. These performers are the pinnacle of passion and possibility in musical theater.
@joryhebelginorio @nealabarron @tgambs @graceesteckler @samshankman @thejordangolding @ryder_mcdaniel @elliot.esquivel You are all phenomenal Broadway-worthy talent. FACT!
OCTET is headed to @goodmantheatre and we will go back 1000%!!
Do yourself a favor and go see Octet!! by @helloiamjeff

Loki The End of the World Tour @lifelinetheatre is a production of pure possibility. The possibility of what joy, laughter, community, love, hope, and a perfect Saturday night can be! This whole production: the book, the music, the set, the wardrobe, the direction, and oh wow, the cast- all examples of what happens when a group of passionate soul and community driven genius comes together. To experience Loki right now is to be there at the beginning, because we will see more of it. Go see this show so when Loki is on broadway you can say you saw that premier performance at the @lifelinetheatre theater! taken in Lifeline Theatre by @helloiamjeff

Oh the things history can teach us… @timelinetheatre ’s inaugural production in their beautiful new space, An Enemy of the People, holds up a mirror from a century ago and we see today, greed and truth still colliding just as they always have. Every role is cast perfectly. @wellthatwentwill plays the voice of reason and over 100 years later this feels like the voices of today who are silenced, censored, and bullied into submission. Wonders if a conservative were to saunter into this genius production, might today’s political ideals hit different. Just go see #AnEnemyofThePeople before it closes! I used to post about almost every show Dillon and I would see, but life gets busy and sometimes the words never make it to a post. THE TARGETED by Hanna Kime is sticking with me days later. Go see THE TARGETED. Where do I start? Ridiculously hilarious, in a, “laugh as therapy” kind of way. A propaganda spiral of manipulation and obsessive paranoia can be funny. Especially on stage with some of the most gifted stage actors alive. So this explains how some people get elected and get away with what they get away with! It’s just what everyone needs right now: laughter, absurdity, and raw humanity. Genius writing paired with genius acting and directing and you have THE TARGETED! So so so so very very very good good good! Just go, and you will laugh and cry and feel that laughter therapy too! taken in Chopin Theatre by @helloiamjeff
