The first evening on our photo Safaris in Namibia. One of only two night sky preserves in the Southern Hemisphere, what a perfect way to start our 10 day adventure. The quiver tree farm here in Keetmanshoop Namibia is one of the largest areas for quiver trees anywhere. It's amazing how beautiful my first VDC project turned out. The hard rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa. This was a huge construction project with 580 key hi-rise hotel, 7 restaurants & bar & massive gaming floors. there are three Olympic size pools in the spa takes up the whole 1st floor of the hotel. My favorite place in the world to shoot! This is Deadvlei in the Namib desert. This ancient dry lake bed, these trees have are still standing because of their deep roots. They are black because of the intense sun in the harsh desert. What a thrill! A helo-gyro flight above Branburg Massif in Namibia. I had Glen fly me over the water well our Family dug for the local mineral miners & wildlife. 9,000ft. Thought I’d share some of my favorite fireworks shots. Here’s the trick to getting these amazing photos. Using a DSLR camera on a tripod, use manual focus and focus on where the fireworks are exploding. A manual or electronic trigger has to be used to make the photos, crisp and clear - tack sharp. Open your shutter when you hear the initial bang and then release or close it after the fireworks burst is over. Let me know what you think in the comments. Www.minkingallery.cim by @dcminkin

From my last photo Safari to Namibia, one of the best locations in the world to collect minerals. I traded with one of the local mineral miners for this raw topaz. After bringing it back to the states, I had it an irradiated and cut. Irradiating the crystal turns it to this beautiful blue.
