Sing it with me babies 🎶 ABCDEF-ICE
Thank you to every single bookworm punk for showing up this month to the @dcpunkarchive @mlklibraryfriends show on the rooftop
You moshed, you ate worms, you screamed for spaghetti - and perhaps the most beautiful part was meeting young families there and bringing my toddler to her first punk show. Our hearts have never felt so full ❤️ And at the same time - that same night I balled my eyes out reading about the murder of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and then the next week - Johan Sebastian Duran Guerrero - he just celebrated his daughter’s third birthday. So if ~600 of us punks can show up together to mosh - we can show up together to take care of each other. We’re donating a dollar for every person there to the @aclu_nationwide it’s a drop in the bucket but evil people want you to believe your drop doesn’t count. Thank you @rediscoverfirebooking for putting together this beautiful night with @bedmakerdc @pinkhousebanddc and for capturing the joy of the DC punk scene @i.i.n.d.i.i @packercraze @chainsawvisualz @alecpugliese and our spaghetti sisters @oh_no_its_lulu @elliot_oflynn_official taken in Mlk Library, Washington, D.C by @dcpunkarchive

Thank you to those that came out to the punk show last week and grabbed a button, zine, or made a mini screen print with us! It was a beautiful night filled with great music.

Shoutout to my summer interns who were the backbone behind getting all the cute, free things out to you all. Special thanks to the designer of the screen prints, Katie G! She killed it.

If you missed the July 8th show come on out to our next show on August 12th and drop us a note at the DC Punk Archive table letting us know when you knew you were punk. Responses will be put into the archive! I've included a few of my favs from the last show (:

Cheers,
Katie taken in Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library by @dcpunkarchive
