I love trying new transitions live.. It’s a great feeling seeing your ideas work in real time! When DJing a wedding, a lot of times you’re made accessible, whether that be to guests or other vendors. Focus is required because they don’t know or understand your cue points. It’s always refreshing when you’ve got a planner who knows “give me a second” is nothing personal! #DCRhythm #DCRdjs #weddingdj #dmvweddingdj #vaweddingdj by @dcrdjs

My favorite cliche: Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life ⚡️story time ⬇️ 10 years ago you couldn’t convince me that I’d find a way to make music my career, now I wonder what took me so long 😂 Roughly 3 years ago, in the early stages of my DJ company I acquired a DJ contract that required me to be away from home for about a month. My 9-5 at the time was NOT with it, advocating against me making money “outside of the company on pto” (managers words). I was presented with an unspoken ultimatum, keep stability, or chase my dreams and face the unknown. I went, I chose myself.. I lied about my trip and took the gig. My manager searched for and found content of me DJing on this EXACT cruise ship and fired me upon my return. Oddly enough that moment didn’t shake me in the slightest, it did the exact opposite, I gained clarity. I used to turn down gigs and opportunities because of my job and the moment I chose myself, it kicked me to the curb. I knew in that moment I made the right decision. Fast forward 3 years later I am happier than I’ve ever been professionally, I’ve more than tripled my income and I’ve NEVER had a day where I woke up and dreaded going to work. Oh and as I mentioned before, this is the cruise that got me fired, I’M STILL HERE! ⚡️ Remain patient, resilient and READY. You never know when opportunity will knock at your door and you better answer! This ain’t UPS and it ain’t guaranteed to come back around! Thank you for your time 🙏🏽 #DCRhythm #DCRdjs #weddingdj #cruisedj #corporatedj In case you’re still clocking👋🏽 Debbie 😂😂 by @dcrdjs

Sun ✅ Waves ✅ Rhythm ✅ Give me 10 min of your time and I promise to make your body move 💃🏽🕺🏽⚡️ I picked up the @numark_dj Mixstream Pro Go before my last cruise run, so I had to hit the top deck for a test run ⚡️⚡️ This unit is battery powered, with a built in speaker making it a truly portable solution for DJs. I think I’ll be posting a lot more “random” sets 😂 #DCRhythm #DCRdjs #Cruise #cruisedj #afrobeats by @dcrdjs

Bucket list item: Host a radio show ✅ I had an amazing time co-hosting with the incredible and talented @elizabethany on @hot995 for her Stragner-Danger segment! From the conversation we shared both on and off air I was delighted in how impressive EB is! Her knowledge of the industry & willingness to have candid discussions is refreshing. She’s got her finger on the pulse of the DMV and knows how to make things happen! Working with her was an honor and here’s me manifesting my return 😅🤞🏽 Here’s a tip if you ever meet her, skip the small talk and go DEEP lol. taken in HOT 99.5 by @dcrdjs
