Blooming Heather, inspired by the folk song Wild Mountain Thyme, and the magic of the purple hills of heather we’re so lucky to have across this island.

Throughout this series, Lizzie kept coming back to this beloved musing on heather...missing Scotland a little Lizzie?

This improvisation is our little offering to that magic.

You don’t need a Handpan to learn Handpan 🙃

It’s probably one of the biggest things that stops people from giving it a go - “but I don’t have one!”

Good news. You don’t need one :)

If you’re curious about the Handpan but you’ve never played before, my 90-minute Taster Lessons are designed exactly for that. You’ll have a Handpan to play, plenty of time to explore the instrument, and I’ll guide you through the basics of making your first sounds, rhythms and patterns.

No instrument. No musical experience. No problemo.

Just come along and have a play 💛

Taster Lessons are available in person in North West London. Head to the link in my bio to book yours 🛸 A picture of two Handpans that explains how Craig offers handpan lessons taken in London, United Kingdom by @dcrogerson

Our first video of the series is on YouTube now, join us.

We’re slowly moving towards autumn, the season of cosiness, longer evenings and finding a little more space to slow down.

When we filmed this, it was a very different story… 33°C, sun blazing, and seeking out whatever shade we could find at Goddenwick Farm!

Now, as the seasons turn, we’re so happy to begin sharing this series of live vocal and handpan improvisations with you.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing little pieces of this musical journey: created amongst the trees, simply listening and responding to one another and to the landscape around us.

We hope these sounds can accompany you into moments of rest, meditation, quiet mornings, slow evenings, or whenever you feel called to pause and breathe.

No, it’s not a UFO 🛸

It’s a handpan - and in this Question Time I’m answering one of the most common things people ask me: what exactly is it?

A very quick introduction to one of my favourite instruments.

Here’s ‘Buddha’s Dream’ - Marcus swaps out his flute from the last video for a Bansuri. Handcrafted by Juan Tepui @tepui_bansuri from a single, flawless stalk of raw Indian Dolu bamboo, this D bass bansuri carries the rich, soulful resonance of this giant grass that thrives deep in the pristine Assam forests. Together with the Handpan, this just sounds like butter 🧈 Pop your headphones on and enjoy! Don’t forget, a longer clip of us both awaits you on my YouTube channel - CraigRogersonMusic. Thumbs up in the comments if you want a five hour version 👍🏼

I love finding new spots to perch up and play some Handpan. I promise my frown is just concentration - I’m indeed, most content in these moments :) taken in Jamyang Buddhist Centre by @dcrogerson
