NTS: Be the Vibe you Seek!

Immensely grateful to the Lord above for the ability to see another year… 2024 was an amalgamation of lessons, love, and laughter, but marathon continues 🏁 This 2025 lap is bout to be one of dem ones! This year I will continue to lean into being the blessing I was designed to be and spread this Capricorn energy to loved ones, family and all those I encounter! Energy is contagious, so again, don’t chase the vibe, Be the vibe you seek! Pura Vida…. #decembersveryown #nyebaby🎉 by @dcurrency22

🎵”They say it takes a village…. I’m the image of a potluck…”

This past Saturday, May 7th was the grand closing to arguably the most transformative two years of my life as a MBA candidate at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business… My journey leading up to this momentous occasion was tenuous and often times tested the fabric of my being… **cues “IF”** (IYKYK)

“If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew to serve your turn long after they are gone, and so hold on when there is nothing in you, EXCEPT the Will that says to them: ‘Hold on!’”

My two years in this hyperbolic chamber consisted of many highlights including embracing vulnerability, valuing power of community, forging lifelong bonds, and learning how to authentically show up as myself everyday, no matter the space…

Despite all of that I wouldn’t be here without God or my village both of which I am immensely grateful for… Thank you to everyone who poured into me (even those who doubted 👀lol) Grandma we definitely did it! This achievement is a team win and a testament for all those who ever dared to dream… Remain ten toes down and always bet on yourself…

This chapter may be closing, but an immeasurable one is opening… 🍾🎉📈

Celebrating 33 laps around the Sun today… I have immense gratitude for every breath and waking moment the lord grants me…I’ve always believed it’s appropriate that my day of birth falls on arguably the largest celebratory day of the year, because any one who knows me, knows I love to have a good time dancing, laughing, and kicking it with friends and loved ones!

2021 has been tenuous to say the least… I’ve taken a lot of losses, the largest one being losing my grandmother… But trust I’m doing my best to make you proud everyday Grandma! Thankfully, I’ve also had my fair share of wins this year both individual and home-team wins! Always have treated my friends as family, so when they win I too win!

In summation I’ve come to realize Life, much like basketball, is a game of runs… it’s riddled with ebbs and flows, dark times and moments of light at the end of the tunnel… I am learning to celebrate all wins big or small while also continuing to be intentional in the moments of darkness… because the dark don’t last always, and when the lights come on, it’s time to perform!

2021 started off a bit shaky, but trust I’ve gained a lot of momentum and I’m currently on one hell of a run! Stay 10 toes down, and cheers to another 33 laps and counting! #NYEBaby #KareemYear #33 #CapricornSeason by @dcurrency22
