They opened the original Dallas Museum of Natural History up to the public for the first time in 14 years, displaying fragile dioramas that date back to 1936. It was only open for a couple Sundays and we got a chance to see what wildlife Texas used to be in the early 20th century.
.
On one hand it was really interesting to learn about all the wildlife here, but also incredibly heartbreaking to learn of so many that were hunted to extinction. Given the size of Texas, the genocide of these species is quite the task.
.
On the other hand, I’m hesitantly grateful that these creatures were preserved so we could imagine what it might have been like a hundred years ago before progress / greed got the better of the environment.

What an amazing tour. I broke off from everyone else (including my girlfriend at the time) to rush in front of stage left. Spent the concert slammed into the barrier gate at Pacific Coliseum, planted right in front of Dime. Completely mesmerized by his absolute mastery - dude made his godlike shredding look so effortless. He threw us beers halfway through the show as we were sweating our faces off, crammed shoulder to shoulder, heads smashing into heads.
.
Leaving that concert, I took off my drenched shirt and wrung out the buckets of collective sweat we all perspired that evening. I was amped (and deaf) for weeks after that show. I never thought it would be the last time I'd experience Pantera.
.
I can feel it slipping further away each year, but the visceral gut punch when I put on Hellbound just takes me right back to that night and that feeling. #CFH #dimebagdarrell taken in P.N.E. Pacific Coliseum by @ddashfens

Wow - Pretty darn stoked that our lil' game Alien Rogue Incursion is on the same bill as these phenomenal titles! All of these are absolute killer VR experiences that demonstrate the best in creativity and immersion for this fantastic medium.

Hope everyone has a chance to play these and help to keep pushing VR forward! 🕶️

We released our flat screen port of our VR Alien title!
.
Was an interesting challenge to bring this game to consoles and PC in a short amount of time, but also a great way to test our team's scoping and team alignment skills.
.
Big shout outs to our technical sound designer Tim Schumann who worked tirelessly to update all the audio tech to make sure all players could have the best experience possible outside of the headset. I hope everyone can have the chance to experience this in surround!
.
And as a nice surprise, on our launch day I happened upon this positive review from The Xbox Hub that included this little write up about our audio!

"The sound is what truly makes it so nerve jangling, though, with the iconic ping of the motion tracker showing where the aliens are, the roar of the shotgun (which I like to keep handy for close encounters) and the sound of the pulse rifle all perfectly recaptured. The hiss and squeal of the Xenomorphs, especially when they have dropped down silently behind you is terrifying, and all in all the presentation is absolutely bang on."

2 weeks ago Joshua Carro invited me to the big launch of Borderlands 4. It was quite the affair and so much fun to catch up with my old pals on the Gearbox sound team. Super stoked for the giant steps they delivered for this game, and the reviews really show it!
.
I feel so grateful I was able to contribute in a small way to this epic title, and wanted to share a few BTS photos of the recording sessions around the west coast of Canada gathering ambience for the world of Kairos, as well as a little weapon foley session Tim Mambrino and I cooked up for my newly acquired arsenal ;)

What a difference a month makes.

Found Gigi after driving down a random local street. Clearly abandoned, we took her in to see how it went. After posting in the lost pets section, turns out she had a companion / sibling that was dumped with her. Picked Barney up, and after a week of no replies of missing pet, we decided to adopt them.
.
Two weeks later another surprise as Gigi gave birth, with only one surviving. It’s so small and full energy now!
.
After losing Korben last year and feeling like the house was missing something, they bring that energy and happiness that only animals can.
.
From no plans for pets to three bunnies, it’ll be a new journey forward with them 🐇 taken in Texas by @ddashfens

So this happened today. Super grateful as this was my first time creating and mixing in this medium. Learned so much during the dev cycle of this game! Excited for the next challenge and to continue chasing that next level VR audio experience!!
