You will be missed my captain oh captain. by @ddeckerwrites

I’m excited to announce that development has officially begun on the sequel to Kyra of the North, my debut novel! While there’s still a long road ahead, I’m thrilled to return to Kyra’s world and explore where her journey will take her next.
Writing this sequel represents an important milestone in my growth as an indie author. Since publishing Kyra of the North in 2024 and, more recently, Siren and the Shield, I’ve learned so much about the craft of writing and what it means to grow as a storyteller. I’m especially grateful to my fellow indie authors, who have encouraged me and guided me along the way.
In this next installment, I want to use everything I’ve learned over the past two and a half years and tell a richer, more compelling story. My goal is to build on the first book’s foundation by exploring Kyra’s continued growth, struggles, and connections with other characters. I want these characters to feel more layered and their experiences more meaningful, giving readers reasons to connect with them as I do.
Most importantly, I want to create a story that not only entertains but also gives readers something they can relate to, whether through the characters’ struggles, their personal growth, or the choices they must make along the way.
I’m still in the beginning of this journey, and I look forward to sharing more of the process with you. I’ll do my best to post monthly updates as I work through Kyra’s next adventure, giving readers a glimpse of what to expect.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my work so far. Your encouragement means so much to me, and I’m excited to see where this next chapter of my journey leads.
