Lebanon ❤️ The way the air shifts as you drive up into the mountains, it fills your lungs with memories and a sense of belonging I can’t quite put into words. It lets you know you’ve entered divine country. Up there, the world feels older, wiser, quieter… slower. This summer, for the first time in over a decade, I stood beneath trees that have witnessed thousands of years, whose branches cradle poetry, prayers, and entire civilizations.

So learning that ‘Israel’ is burning forests just a short drive from where I walked… it’s devastating and infuriating. Heartbreaking and enraging.

To the diaspora: if we can post our Batroun beach days and summer sunsets, we can also speak up when the land we claim to love is under attack… When our pine forests are intentionally burned down and when apartheid walls are constructed inside Lebanese territory by genocidal neighbors, using our tax dollars. 10,452 km² and not a centimeter less 🇱🇧 taken in Maaser El Shouf Cedar Reserve محمية ارز معاصر الشوف by @ddmmm11

I’m not typically a fan of these year in review things because I think we should be perpetually bettering ourselves— but I’m going to share one anyways because 2025 was a rollercoaster of a year and to my surprise became a runway for blastoff.

Most of you only see my “political” posts, and while I’d like to remind you that everything is political, I’d also like to remind you that you can still enjoy life while being outspoken about serious issues very much affecting all of us now.

In 2025 I…
- Survived a fire hurricane.
- Went skiing a lot to cope.
- Stembopped with friends.
- Out cowboyed several cowboys.
- Had a three day carajillo fest to celebrate friends.
- Started a business with @rominaolivia_
- Protested. Resisted. Learned a lot.
- Reconnected with childhood friends.
- Went to Lebanon… found myself lost, and then found myself.
- Smoked a couple cigarettes (yuck!).
- Was reminded of why I h8 fa$cism.
- Imbibed in beautification and self love.
- Retained silliness by any means. Rediscovered space bunz!
- Showed up with grace (sometimes).
- Strengthened my backbone.
- Found a community of people in media disrupting narratives.

Beyond humbled and thrilled for what’s to come next. As always, Free Palestine, Free Sudan, Free Lebanon, and FUCK ISRAEL❤️ by @ddmmm11
