“Life, the Universe, and Everything”

To mark my 42nd birthday, I’m honored to donate ten books I’ve written over the years to the permanent collection of the New Milford Public Library.

I grew up in this idyllic town and spent many formative years in its historic public library. I credit these resources for piquing my lifelong curiosity. In particular, the library’s art books and wide-ranging stacks played a central role in my intellectual growth.

I hope that this gift contributes to the library’s mission of inspiring future generations in the community and beyond.

Thank you to everyone for all the encouragement and kind wishes, especially @hbrehl, @valentineblondel, @ryanmrozowski, @andermikalson, @jamesdreiss, @nmpubliclibrary, @newmilford.ct, @nmhs_principal, and the many great artists and publishers: @davinasemo @ranabegumstudio @abbottstillmanstudio @yuhongstudio @scad_photo @janeinpeepland @ann_craven @hallchase @emma_webstah @scaddotedu @scadmoa @whitneymuseum @karmakarma9 @karmabookstore @perrotin @lisson_gallery @jessicasilvermangallery @katemacgarry @windsorflorida @skira_arte @thamesandhudson by @ddotpalmer

Melvin Edwards (1937-2026) Rest in Power. It was a true honor to work with Mel, a titan in the field and one of the most generous, kind-hearted artists I’ve ever known. by @ddotpalmer

An unforgettable evening at SCAD Museum hosted by Arushi Kapoor @arushikapoor1 , Alison Melton @theagencysavannah @luxelowcountry and Daniel Palmer @scaddotedu @ddotpalmer reminding us why education is everything.

The best experiences in the art world aren’t the loudest, they’re the most intentional. @theagencyarthouse events are private, curated, and intentionally limited, designed for collectors who want access but then more.

Because the difference is in THE EXPERIENCE. by @ddotpalmer

Until 7 June 2026, the SCAD Museum of Art presents ‘Anish Kapoor: Earth Sky on Red Ground’. @scadmoa

Featuring 15 canvases ranging from 2012 to 2022, this is the first museum exhibition in the U.S. devoted entirely to the painting practice of Anish Kapoor, an eminent artist recognized for his peerless international renown.

His iconic sculptures in a diverse spectrum of materials often confound the viewer’s perception. Yet Kapoor’s paintings simultaneously emphasize the viscerality of our physical existence and the metaphysical inner worlds we share. The artist has intrepidly accomplished this feat with his expressive technique, characterized by sensuous brushwork and an immersive scale that envelops the viewer in the works’ powerful traction. Kapoor’s canvases feature abstract forms with a forceful gestural boldness that is deftly achieved in thickly impastoed oil paint. The works’ timeless titles convey an almost ritualistic dialogue with the long arc of the medium and our collective history. The immediacy of Kapoor’s approach to painting animates this integral part of his practice, demonstrating its centrality to the truly incomparable creative outpouring of a contemporary master.

Thank you @dirty_corner @lisson_gallery -- it has been a true honor to curate this important exhibition! by @ddotpalmer

NOW ON VIEW I Eva Jospin at SCAD Museum of Art

“Into the Woods”
Curated by Daniel S. Palmer
On view through June 7, 2026

In her debut U.S. museum exhibition, presented as part of SCAD deFINE ART 2026, Eva Jospin reveals the breadth and nuance of her singular practice. Her work captivates with an otherworldly allure, ranging from sculpted forests and architectural follies meticulously carved from cardboard to richly embroidered landscape tapestries and her most intricate, delicate renderings. Jospin’s creative power is equally evident in intimate, finely detailed works and in monumental, immersive installations that envelop viewers in a timeless sense of wonder.

Drawing from Renaissance sources and the fantastical realms of fairy tales, Jospin’s artworks explore the mysteries of nature and ruins with exceptional precision and craftsmanship. Together, they invite reflection on contemporary materials and our place within history, offering moments of enchantment that affirm our active role within these enduring visual narratives.
