I have faced so many trials and challenges while @ UAB but I would not change it for anything. I have literally cried over this degree lost sleep over this degree ,could not eat meals wondering if I did my best on a grade…and even wondered how I would pay for this degree. For this B.S I have put my all into obtaining a higher degree of education. Through many losses there were many Gains .What I thought were doors closing in my face were doors that led to hallways of endless opportunities . Some family that I thought would be there with me this past Saturday that did not end up seeing me walk , I believe walked with me every step of the way. My grandfather was there for me while I charged into Starbucks early mornings before my tests. My grandnana walked with me each hw
Assignment needed to be done before 11:59 even when I had no motivation to complete it. My teedy was there as I walked across the stage saying “go
Dessy” And my uncle Ben there ensuring through the semester I always pushed through even when I felt exhausted and felt that there was no more 2
Give .(RIP to my angels 😇 ) thru all of this I can truly say God is good all the time. Even when I was utterly lost, and didn’t know my plan, God always knew my plan. When I felt my knees buckle at a twist or turn ahead, that wasnt expected. God became my GPS and gave me the guidance and light in the dark I needed to find my way.This is to Mrs. pellow who said that if I put my mind to it I may could go to a community college 🙃. This is for my nursing advisor who told me time and time again maybe this wasn’t the university for me. Nvr let anyone tell you you cannot do some thing. Nvr let anyone plant an Evil Seed and lead you to believe that you will not reach success. In anything you want to do always lean on yourself you’re your own critique and biggest competition,lean on your support system because your family will become your rock and your saving grace i kno mine was. Most importantly know God will Make it happen but u MUST put in the work . Always remember if it was easy everybody would do it 😉 cheers to this degree see you on the next✌🏽.

This journey was far from easy. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But through every late night, every tear, every moment I felt like giving up… God held me close. And now, by His grace and strength, I’m officially a Master’s degree holder!

I am deeply inspired by Black brilliance, Black resilience, and Black excellence. WE ARE INCREDIBLE!
Although my journey as a teacher — a passion I’ve pursued for over three years — has come to an end, I’m excited to announce my next chapter: I’ve accepted a position at LifeGift as an Organ Donation Coordinator🩺👩🏽‍⚕️. What’s more meaningful than the chance to gift life?

This is just the beginning. I can’t wait to see how God continues to write my story — purposefully, powerfully, and beautifully. SEE YOU AT THE TOP
